I had surgery in Oct. and I can just now feel the roundness of my port. It was long and hard before like you say. I poke at it all the time without realizing it.. I think it is only natural to feel it. My port wasn't really sore but even now I feel like it is bruised at times when i move just the right way and tug at it. What you are feeling now is the scar tissue. Give it a couple of months.. I am also a teacher!!

Trust me it isn't easy. But I understand, some of my extended family thought I was too... but I am not doing it for them! You have to do what makes you happy and what is good for you. What I did was send my whole family an email and told them how important this was to me, my current health problems due to my weight and how i was thankful for all of their encouragement and support (even though they weren't giving me much). Let them know in a nice way to shut up! It is the best thing I have done.. Easy... no! But worth it!

So I have had my first 2 fills (3rd one next week). I am still hungry all the time and can eat as much as I always did. I have not lost any more weight. But I have not gained any either. Should i still be losing and not able to eat much?

I am trying not to eat too much but I know that I am... I am walking.

Stacey, we have the same last name! I understand.. I have lost 35lbs but nothing for about a month and i can eat a lot.... it will get better!

So I went in for my first fill today and he couldn't find the opening to the port... he kept saying, "I can't find the damn thing!" Then he thought it may have flipped.. I started to mentally panic... flipped port = another surgery... but after moving the needle around for about 1 minute he found it..... I never realized that there would be a weird feeling when you got the fill. He asked if I felt it, and it felt like gurgling going all the way up from my belly to my throat..... Weird! I have felt nauseus that rest of the day and am a little sore.

What happens when you try to drink something with carbination in it? What about beer or wine? I just had my first fill.

No numbing... I think i am sore b/c I bruise very easy and I can see it already....

Tonight I went to Target and bought a couple shirts. One was in the women's department but i went from a 20/22 to a 16/18. Secondly, I bought my first shirt in the "normal" girls department... granted it is a XXL but that doesn't matter. I have not been able to buy anything in that dept. for years and years..... I am sooooooooooo happy!:clap2:

Mine is not until the 29th. I am very hungry right now, so I hope I can feel some difference when it happens! Happy Thanksgiving!

I hit my -30lb mark today AND went down a pant size! I am sooo excited! This is the first time I have ever lost weight!

I am just starting to eat solids again. We are going out to a seafood place tomorrow for my dad's birthday. I do not care for fish. Is there any other seafood that you have found that you can eat easily??

I am a week and a half out from surgery. When can I start exercising? Do I really have to wait 6 weeks?

I just went down a pant size. That is the first time that has happened to me in... well..... EVER!

Mine was Liquids for 2 weeks... Mushies (refried beans) 2 weeks and the the 5th week real food.

I have found pasta is fine, but bread gets stuck VERY easily!

beans but too fast I think.... I could feel it stuck in the middle of my chest and it wouldn't go down.

I asked for the 2 cook books that amazon has... hope they are under the christmas tree.

I got stuck today and it was scary! I ate beans too fast! I am scared to eat again...

I had terrible gas pains... they sent me back to the hospital... walk as much as possible, hot showers helped to take my mind off of it... and laying on my left side really helped for some reason. My dr. says when they get bad lay down but keep your butt in the air b/c air rises and it will get it back to your belly.. try that.... but the left side worked the best for me....
