I've grown sick of the Protein shakes' date=' too. I've since switched to Isopure (kind of like Gatorade) and hot chocolate protein drinks.< /p>
Molly 10/2/13[/quote']
I do have some isopure. What brand of hot cocoa do you like? What brand of protein bars do you guys like best?

Ok friends ...I need to vent a minute. My pouch is finicky. Only getting 40-60g of Protein. Some days less. Not enjoying Protein Shakes. They make me want to hurl. Anyone ever go to a whole food place and see what they have for protein? I'm desperate. My creatinine is low and that can indicate a protein deficiency. Aaarruuggggh!

Hello All! One week out today. (Feels like the hardest week of my life.) I'm looking for some help/clarification. What exactly is considered a "meal" during the full liquids stage? I've just been drinking water' date=' eating popsicles (praise God for those), sipping on the Protein shakes and having SF Jello or SF pudding without a schedule or anything. I know I'm not supposed to drink liquids 30 minutes prior or after a meal but just not sure what is considered a meal. If I knew, I could develop a better schedule. Any help is appreciated![/quote']Full liquids includes all clears and cream Soups, applesauce, oatmeal, cream of wheat and pudding /yogurt. Hope that helps.

I feel the same exact way!!! I have been crying every day. I eat my two ounces and slowly but my stomach still growls. I'm soooo hungry!! I thought the pouch was supposed to be smaller and we were supposed to get full fast?? I want to eat everything. I haven't cheated but just sob instead. And I swear my sense of smell has increased since surgery because every time I smell food I wanna die!! And the damn food commercials are killing me too!! Ugh I want to be one of those people that has to force themselves to eat cuz they aren't hungry. Wondering if I made the right decision.
You sure did make the right decision gals...you know the saying "be patient, be kind" start with yourself. This is a huge change for all of us. Sometimes I think it's more emotional change than physical. We are here for you. It will get better. Xoxo

Anyone out there juicing or blending? I'm not really getting anything other than protien...so I bought a nutribullet extractor. Once a day I blend kale, spinach, carrots, banana, apple, strawberries and blackberries with protien powder and Water to get some other micro nutrients I may be lacking. Just a thought. It also emulsifies all of it so you are getting the Fiber.< /p>

Second day home and still having pressure. Not able to get in Protein requirements and liquid requirements too. Was told to focus on liquids first. To avoid dehydration. Curious as to when i might expect to see a BM. Not had one since day before surgery on 10/29/13. Realize i wasn't taking in much during that time. Should i take something to help it along? I DO NOT want to get constipated. Advice welcomed. If you haven't had any solids no worries yet...but later remember benefiber is our friend. Molly turned me onto it and it's fab.

Hi all...I'm having a bit of emotional turmoil. Only down 22.5 not including the 6.5 I gained in the hospital. (Surg 10/2) I want it to go a bit faster. Bleh. But I am trying fork tender things. Some agree with my pouch...others don't. I was able to do 1/3 of a wendys small chili for lunch. Soooofreaking happy to have to chew my food!!! We are all losers now, so congratulations! Love to all.

For the ladies that are nervous about "life after "....this is a huge step for you. You are beginning a new journey and it's normal to be unsure. You may be in pain...it's treatable. You may have days you mourn your old favorite food, but you will not mourn the shedding of the weight that has held you back for so long. Celebrate your courage and know you are beautiful. God bless and good luck!.......Katie

Ok, so I am 2.5 weeks out and trying my damndest to get at least 60 grams of protein...but today I only ate 256 calories. And 40 gm of Protein. I'm just not hungry. And I have all the energy in the world. Cleaned and rearranged today. And tidbits of advice from the vets? And by the way 18.5 lbs down

Prayers for all of the surgeries tomorrow. We are waiting here on the bench for you cheering. My doc said 2 weeks liq. 2 pureed. 2 soft then real food. I can't stand not chewing puree makes me want to hurl. So I am slowly trying fork tender things, chewing them into paste and going super slow. No problems yet. Thank goodness.

I've been back home for a couple of days now' date=' and starting to feel better. The hospital sucks! They make you wear compression sleeves on your legs and I couldn't put them on or take them off by myself and hated calling for the nurses for everything. I had back pain which I think was the gas but made it hard to sleep. Then, they wake you up every couple of hours. I totally crashed the first day home and just slept. My girls asked me why I got surgery when it just makes me sleep all the time! I know that everything they do there is to make sure you are okay to come home, but it was depressing for me. Wished my husband stayed at the hospital, but he had to take care of the kids, and it was way too uncomfortable to sleep there. I had buyers remorse until coming home. Sorry for the rant! Things get a lot better as the days go on.[/quote']I had that same feeling the first 3 days...all hospital days. I'm glad you're home. It gets better. I came home 8 lbs heavier than when I went in I have now. Lost 21.5 lbs from that day. My surgery was 10-2-13. Welcome to the losers bench!

So this a.m. was down 16 lbs. Feeling very happy. Tolerating eggs, pureed Soups including chili (either I'm brave or stupid) and Peanut Butter from spoon. Grateful to Molly for mentioning benefiber. How are the recent losers feeling? I hope well.

I have 6 sites. The only one that has bothered me at all is the larger one over my liver area. The area all around there was tender for quite a while. I saw my pcp Monday he said all looks good...and gastroenterologist today...also said good. See surgeon for first time on nov. 6th
