  1. Great to see that there are people active on "our" forum.

Don't look at that small number...think about how you have come. Part of those 20-30lbs are excess skin.

I am guilty for not eating the most nutritious options. Seem to go for what goes down the easiest.

Other than the last lbs - how you doing?

  2. Hi fellow 28ths

Looking very to my anniversary follow up with my surgeon. Lost 73lbs to date. Not always as diligent as I should be and SO bad with Water. This week is eat more greensand drink more water week. Hope to see a difference.

Still have regurgitation but think I get excited about what's on my plate and eat too fast.

Definitely get mild dumping so conscience of that.

    How you all doing?

  3. Feeling the same way AutumnPunkin...been hovering 172 now for about 6 weeks.

Drs estimation for 1 year was 165 ( still 2 months to achieve that), although I would like to be a little lower than that.

Still eating small portions which is awesome but not always the right foods.

Water is definitely a hurdle for me too. Not because it hurts but just don't enjoy drinking Water.< /p>

Wish someone would share a "booster" to get back up and loosing again.

  4. The Name of the Protein Bars is : PURE Protein. The box was around $17.00 and it contains 36 bars. Each bar is 200 calories, has less than 2g of sugar, and 20grams of protein. It has a little more carbs than I would like, but when I feel like I just can't stomach another Protein Shake, these are GREAT. The box comes with the following 3 flavors: chocolate Deluxe, Chocolate Peanut Carmel, and Chocolate Peanut Butter.< /p>

Please can you send a pic of the wrapper. Don't think I can get these in Australia but would like to see in all health stores.

  5. Ok so I'm now 13 weeks post op & was doing well. Except the past 2 weeks I've done nothing but throw up every time I've eaten & I keep feeling sick on & off as well. The smell of certain foods makes me want to vomit too. I know it's not a bug but really am getting concerned & want to know what the hells going on? :'(

Lucii, I am almost 10 weeks and every now and then I vomit both lunch and dinner up. Just thought I wasn't chewing properly or eating too fast. Please keep me posted on what your Dr suggests.

  6. Hi SA, do you mind me asking what your starting weight was? I'm 7 weeks out too and have lost 14 lb (weigh again on Monday) and I started at 230lb.

Sure you can...started at 225lb. We are definitely sailing on the same boat. Let me know how you go on Monday. PS already Sunday here in Australia

  7. Here to join the "party". Seeing my Nut on Monday. First time since surgery - 7 weeks ago. Hoping she is happy with my progress. Only 13lb since then but when you look at it as a average of almost 2lb a week it is not half bad. I've been told in the past that one should not loose more that 10% of total body weight in a week for a healthy weight loss. Guess that's without surgery though?!?!?

  8. I love hearing all your stories.

3 weeks post op yesterday. All going well. Have lost a total of 24lb including pre-op diet. Had a couple of days stall but happy that the scale is still moving. Best feeling is not ever having to see the big numbers on the scale again.

Not sure that I can clearly differentiate between puree and softs to the degree that I should. But seem to be doing well otherwise. Reminder to self...water...water...water. Gulity not drinking enough.

Since Sunday I have had a sharp pain in my left side. Heading to the GP for an "check it out" after work today as my next surgeon appointment is not for another 2.5 weeks.

Boobs are definitely shrinking. Amazing feeling to start donating or chucking the big clothes away.

  9. Hello All! One week out today. (Feels like the hardest week of my life.) I'm looking for some help/clarification. What exactly is considered a "meal" during the full liquids stage? I've just been drinking water' date=' eating popsicles (praise God for those), sipping on the Protein shakes and having SF Jello or SF pudding without a schedule or anything. I know I'm not supposed to drink liquids 30 minutes prior or after a meal but just not sure what is considered a meal. If I knew, I could develop a better schedule. Any help is appreciated![/quote']

From what I understand liquid are liquids and therefore no definition between "eating" and drinking. This part of the process is all about staying hydrated and full of Protein for healing. Not till purée stage that the meals are more defined.

Attached what I am sticking too.

  10. I'm super hungry right now. Nothing taste right and I am so sick and tired of jello!! When did everyone get cleared for full liquids and puréed food? I'm one week post tomorrow.

We have a health store around the corner that makes fresh chucky Soups. I purchased 2 - one with Beans and another with chicken (both veg based) and completely liquidised them. Best thing ever. Exciting taste and still liquid enough a week post surgery.

  11. I had my surgery October 23' date=' so I'm currently 9 days post op. Feel great (other than still being a bit weak/tired) but I'm hungry ALL the time!! The Nut said we wouldnt have any hunger so I'm perplexed! Also, I can eat up to a cup of cream Soup or a whole yogurt at regular rate & have no probs. Have even gulped my Protein shake (by accident, wasn't paying attention) & nothing happened. I dont go back to hospital til end of Nov[/quote']

I have had no trouble drinking but very careful not to gulp. If your intake is greater than what it should be perhaps try and bring your apt with the hospital forward or even call your doctor.

  12. I had mine on the 30th and should be getting out of here today!! I can't wait. I some dull pain in my left side and it hurts when I take a deep breath but I'm refusing my pain meds. They taste terrible & it makes me gag which is worse than the pain I have.

Hear you on the breathing pain. My surgeon said walking will def help as you need to breathe deeper when exercising.

Meds are gross but serve their purpose but when you get home you can take another soluble pain med.

  13. I am on my 3rd week post op. According to the doctor's scale I've lost 21 pounds. I am stall right now' date=' my scale hasn't move in the last 4 days :( I am eating exactly what I was told by my dietician... This makes me think negative like when before my surgery I would put myself on a diet and not lose pounds at all... Maybe the surgery wasn't a solution for me?? I feel very frustrated now :(... Any advice? Sent from my iPhone using RNYTalk[/quote']

If you read back on this group, many people stall. I am only 4 days post surgery. Not even been on the scales yet but keep in mind your body is probably in shock. Give it time and stick with it.

  14. Surgery next Tuesday!!! So excited to get out if this body of mine. Getting weak on this liver shrink diet. Its been 8 days. Is this normal?

You will definitely not have as much energy. You are on a low kj/cal diet to shrink the liver. Think out the fact that this is for the best and come Tuesday it will all be worth it.

I got headaches at the start and by the last couple of days I just went on a go slow.

    Good luck!
