Sorry if this has been asked in the past but how long did you stay off work?. I have a desk job. I was thinking about 12 days (which will include 2 weekends). When did you feel better and/or felt pretty good to return to work.

I understand exactly what you mean. I'm afraid to fail again, I'm running out of clothes that fit, and I also don't go out much anywhere. I feel like I have put my life back on hold again. Now I am at peace with my decision because I want my life back for me & my kids. I got on the scale yesterday & I know this surgery is needed (in addition to still having current band issues). I am thankful for the positive responsives I have received from this post. Good luck to us all!

I received my surgery date today. I'm having lapband removal, hiatal hernia repair, RNY all in one surgery. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Any advice would be appreciated on how to calm my nerves. Thanks

I hope so! I'm tired of this band and the issues with it. I'm not sure of a surgery date yet. The surgeon's office was closed by the time I got home today. Of all days, I didn't come straight home from work to check the mail. However I will be calling in the morning. Hopefully I can get in quick.

I am approved!! My insurance company denied the 1st request for band to sleeve but after the last upper GI showed the paraesophageal hitial hernia and reflux, sleeve was not the best option. The coordinator submitted the appeal last Tuesday. I was approved me for the gastric bypass. My letter came today. So excited and nervous at the same time!!

Yes that's true. Hopefully my coordinator sent off my appeal paperwork. I haven't talked to her since last week. So now I'm just waiting.

Insurance denied my 1st attempt for revision; band showed no malfunction (although I was vomiting & food was getting stuck. I was hoping for band to sleeve; however latest upper GI says I have a paraesophageal hiatal hernia...reflux is bad. Sleeve is no longer an option. Now my doctors office is going to send an appeal letter for revision to RNY. Bariatric coordinator says it may not be approved just because it is a hernia & may not be band related. Of course, I'm hoping she is wrong. I sit here thinking should have done RNY in the 1st place instead of the band. I am 30 lbs away from gaining my weight back i lost with the band; which was 90 lbs. I'm just frustrated with the negative thoughts of the coordinator.
