  1. I had my surgery October 10th @ Atlanta Medical Center, Dr. Hobson.
  2. I did the first 2 weeks. Fat free milk made my stomach cramp up real bad. Now I'm 5 weeks out and can drink fat free milk with no problem.
  3. Sorry to hear and yes, I have the same problem. When I went in for my 2 wk post op, he said it was musculoskeletal. I'm now almost 5 wks post op. It is not as bad as it was but I have to use a heating pad & tylenol to get some relief. Hope you feel better.
  4. Hi, I had lapband removal, hiatal hernia repair and bypass. Surgery lasted 3 hours. Majority of the time was spent on the hernia. It was big.
  5. Today is post op day 13. I was going to wait until next week at my post op appointment to weigh myself but I was curious. Day of surgery 10/10 weight was 243. Today's weight is 226. I know I should be happy but I guess it just scared me a little to lose 17 lbs in 13 days. My stomach is still swollen and strangely I came on my cycle again within 2 weeks. I guess my body is adjusting to what has happened. Hope everyone else is having a good day.
  6. I would think you should not be having an issue because you are eating actual food. Try using benefiber with your food for added fiber and/or get some Miralax and mix it up with a drink. You should be going afterwards. The dr suggested the citrate for me because the gas pain was something serious. Gas x and Maalox was not helping me too good.
  7. I got my drained pulled out today. Very happy about that. I can breathe better. The drain didn't hurt coming out just felt weird having something pulled out of my body. It will still be awhile before the soreness is gone due to the hernia. They said it was pretty big. Hope everyone is else is doing good.
  8. I'm on day 10 post op and I feel miserable. I wasn't able to get my drain taken out on Friday. The nurse said I still had too much fluid. Just when the gas pain went away, it came back but worse when i started protein shakes. Had several diarrhea episodes and I don't have an appetite. I'm back to clear fluids. The pain in my chest is just depressing. I'm trying to stay positive and remember that I had lapband removal, hiatal repair and the bypass in one surgery. I pray this will be better this week.
  9. No, I haven't been since surgery. I drank a smooth yesterday but this only gave me gas. I will try Miralax next; hopefully that will help. But for now, I think I will switch to Almond milk. That pain had me in tears.
  10. I am 6 days post op and was on my way to feeling better. I drunk about 4 oz of skim milk with a scoop of vanilla unjury protein powder. 20 minutes later I started having sharp pains on left lower side of my stomach. Could this be a sign of lactose intolerance or dumping? I took some Lortab (for the 1st time in 3 days)...hoping this will help with the pain. Has anyone experienced this?
  11. My surgery was Oct 10th. I am doing ok but I do not like the gas pains. They hurt like heck. I am praying it gets better soon.
  12. Thank you and good luck to you as well!
  13. Yes, I can take up to 7 strips a day and I have been walking. I finally passed a little wind yesterday (TMI) & it felt wonderful! I think most of my soreness is from the hernia repair.
  14. Thank you. The only issues is this gas pain. It is a beast!
  15. I ended up having a large hernia; so I text 3 co workers that I talk to on a regular basis and told them I had a hernia repair; which is true. That will somewhat explain the 1st few pounds of weightloss because the post op diet is about the same as the RNY.
  16. Thank you! I'm just trying to take it one day at a time.
  17. My surgery was yesterday. It was 3 hours. The majority of the time was spent repairing the hernia. But he was able to remove lapband, repair the hernia and do the bypass. Pain is not too bad just sore from the hernia repair and I have a jp drain and I'm a pain pump line connected to one of the incisions. I hope to go home today.
  18. I am private person when it comes to certain things. I have been getting questions about why am I going to be off work (taking 7 work days). I just said to take care of some business. I told a few people at work when I had the lapband done. I regret that sometimes because of the weight regain & people looking at me like "dang I thought u had WLS". They don't actually say that but the looks tell it all.
