  1. Hi All,

I don't post, but I do read all the time.

I am doing well, I've lost 67 lbs. since July 24th and just have a ?.

Does anyone have a place where I can go on the puter that will give info on how much Protein in foods. I still drink Protein Drinks and want to be able to keep track better of protein from just my food.< /p>

Thanks in advance for any info you can give me and I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy, but be careful not to undo all the good work you all have done.

  2. you will find here that each doctor is different. I was banded on 7/24 and I can only eat 2ozs of Soup, or yogurt, or cottage cheese at each meal. I am also required to have 2 Protein Drinks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I shouls have 60 oz of Water or crystal light drinks.I must take 20 mins to eat the meal and 1 hour to drink the drink. I think the amount you are doing might stretch your stomach. Just MHO.

  3. Wow, terrible weekend. I called the Dr. 3 times over a 2 hour period just to get him to call me back - and sort of disregard my concern. By Sun. night I had a hard, swollen, red, warm spot the size of my palm (at least) under my large incision. (It looks like I have a pear inserted between my ribs.) ANYWAY, called the Doctor twice last night (answering service) and he never called back. This morning I went to the office. The employees looked at the sore spot and got him on the phone. They called in an antibotic and he will see me tomorrow morning.

I am feeling like this was a bit of a take your money and run deal. If I had been on insurance - would I have gotten better response? Most of us are smart enough to know when something is wrong with our body. Yes, this proceedure is new and different for us, but I knew it wasn't right. They are all claiming that this never happens, he always calls back. Part of my research was checking to see if people who have used him/his group, felt good about them and their follow-up. Maybe it was just a fluke, but I am still regretting the surgery. I should have just sucked it up and lost the weight without the extra tool! Ouch!! Maybe tomorrow I'll see the light!!

Thanks for the encouragement to perservere and see the Doctor! CC

I hope the meds kick in quickly. If you don't get the help from the doctor tomorrow....find a new one. I don't think anyone should have a doc they don't feel comfortable with. I hope you are better asap!

  4. Hi ,

good luck to all going in this week to be banded.

I saw my doctor today and he told me to continue with the tylenol for pain, gas x and added Imodium 3 times a day.

He changed my bandages and said I am healing well.

I will see him next Monday to have the staples removed and get back to work. God bless all you guys going back to work so early.

  5. hi all, I am no support for anyone else. I am still feeling lousy. The gas pains are better, I live on gas x but I have lost 11 lbs. since last Tues and I feel that is too much. I also get sick to my stomach at the smell of food cooking.

Has anyone else lost this much in 6 days post op and are you sick at the smell of foods. I am going to see my doctor tomorrow first thing.

I wish I could say I am happy about this surgery, but right now I think it's getting the better of me.

  6. today is a little better for me. I ended up calling the doctor because the gas pains were so bad. So far this has no been a cake walk, but I hope the next day or 2 improves how I feel. I am taking only tylenol now for pain and gas x strips. I am having trouble eating. Everything tastes lousy.I have lost 6 lbs in 2 days.

  7. Hi All,

Wow, was there a lot to read. There was a hot doc in the holding room that gave me my sleep meds.....His name was Joe and he had kids...that's all I got before I was out cold. But I am back and banded. I had trouble with scar tissue but was still able to get banded , I had a reaction to the pain meds and was monitored closely til midnight of my surgery. I have a little pain now that I am home and walking around but am taking liquid ibuprofen for it.

All in all I think the surg was much easier than I expected. Good luck to all coming up this week.

  8. I wish all luck tomorrow.

I have to be at the hospital at 5:45 AM

    7:30 surg time.

I am ready.....I too have to stay over night and then have an x-ray before being released to make sure all is in the right place. I am quite amazed at the difference in different doctors and requirements for this.

I think I will have trouble getting to sleep tonight.

    See you soon.

  9. My name is Cate and I will have my surgery next Tues. the 24th. I am on day 7 of my pre op diet and have lost 10 lbs so far. I have learned a lot in the past few days reading the posts. I am so glad I found this site. I have high hopes for this band. My only concern is that they will find too much scar tissue from a previous surgery and not be able to perform the lapband. I just have to hope for the best.

I don't know if this will even show up as I have no idea what I am doing. LOL.
