  1. Hello Don!

The smell changes was the worst for me. I am now 4.5 months post op and it is much better. For the first month I had to switch to the pre made muscle milk. It was a lot thinner. Also I had to have a cup with a lid so I couldn't smell it.

    It does get better!

  2. So I am 12 weeks out and only consuming 400-450 calories per day. My surgeon said I should be getting no less than 900-1000 calories a day at three months out. I don't understand how I could possibly eat that much, I'd have to force myself to eat all day long! I feel like I am sucking at this.

I know the feeling. I eat all day long. :o

  3. My husband and I both had rny on march 25th of this year. It was great doing it together. It has made it so much easier.... even the pre-op was easier. We were both miserable together. Haha! Neither of us have had any complications. I pretty much eat what I use to but I was already eating really healthy. He is a sugar addict and an emotional eater. This has been way harder on him. I used the 6 months prior to prepare myself for the surgery and what I could eat. He used it as a "eat everything possible". So he has dumped a few times and figured out pretty quickly what he can not eat. I havent even tried anything that would make me dump. He still wants sweets... but its all mental. He has always coped with life with sweets. I havent craved any sweets. So it all depends on yourself and how menatlly prepared you are.

  4. Is anyone else taking meds BC you still have a gallbladder? I started mine Friday and I think its the reason behind me being so sick.

My husband and I both started it 1 week post op. We havent been sick, so I dont know.

Only problem I have been having is just back pain like never before.

  5. No pork intestines for me. My bff makes it. Hell no I'm not eating it.

Thats Menudo. Posole is made with a pork roast that simmers all day. I cant even handle the smell of Menudo... my mom made it all the time when we were kids. I couldnt even bring myself to try anything made with intestines.

  6. Have u ate it .did it sit well. ? Well I'm Hispanic we make it too. But idk if I can eat that. I'm 2 months out.

Im only 9 days out. I haven't tried it post op. Kinda scared to try anything especially pork right now.

  7. My husbands family is all Hispanic. They make it a lot. It is really good. They make it with dehydrated red peppers... kinda like a chipolte smokey pepper. Usually have a big pork but that simmers all day and they add hominy. Then when you make a bowl, you add in what you want like lime, cilantro, onions and jalapeños.

  8. I am 9 days post-op. My back is killing me now. Goodness. If it isnt one thing isnt another. I ate a few teaspoons if running soft mashed potatoes and they hit me like a brick. Still cant even drink anything. Walkded around the grocery store for an hour and that helped. Goodness

  9. I'm not focusing on calories currently but I do log my food and was just wondering about how many you guys are getting in a day? I'm doing really well with my liquids but I find myself forgetting to eat or forcing myself to get something nutritional down.

I have been shooting for 1000, but never come close. I am a week out also and concentrating more on my liquids. Seems impossible to hut 1000 but I guess in time it will get easier.

  10. Your drain was in the old part of your stomach. My drain had a 15 cm marking on it. I asked if that's how far it was in and they said yes.

I hope the antibiotics kick in and do their job and you start feeling better. Good luck! : )

Oh that makes sense. Thank you. I am staying full all the time between the little bit of foid, the liquid antibiotics 4 times a day and now all the Vitamins and my reg meds. Goodness
