  1. Thank you Niki, I'm so happy to hear the binder helps! My husband is picking mine up today as the first one they gave me was too big. Its been so painful and I just feel like I can't function.:-(
  2. My pain started last Friday, a little over 2 weeks after surgery. I had my dog on her leash and she gave me a couple good yanks. I was told after seeing my bariatric dr it was a torn muscle. The pain initially started below my large incision, but moved more towards my belly button. After a lot of research, it does appear to be that of a torn ab muscle. This can be common after gastric bypass.
  3. Hi Grace and everyone, I completely feel for you Grace. I am 11 days po and just lost it today. Sobbing uncontrollably, wondering if I made the right choice, second guessing everything because after a 20 lb loss I too have stalled and find myself wanting more food then just pureed. Since surgery I've been out of the house once to school shop for my kids and was so miserably sore afterwards and havent been out since. About the only thing I do is wake, shower, change and crawl back in to bed (my walks are 10 mins around the house because I live in a rural area). I just feel so sad. My protein intakes have been good though. I bought Nectar's chocolate truffle, which is very good. I make different variations, like adding banana, SF Torani syrups like carmel. I too do not like the pre-mades either, yuck. Also Nectar has sample packs you can buy before wasting money on a large canister you may not like. Hang in there and know you're not alone.
  4. Hi Molly, that would be so great! I hope to meet you both!:-)
  5. Hi Corie! I plan to make the meeting in September, maybe I'll see you there!:-)
  6. MadisonMolly thank you for the welcome! If you don't mind me asking, how are your classes at UW? Are the being done by Tammy?! Overall I've been very happy with the UW bariatric staff.:-)
  7. Hello everyone! I'm from the Sauk Prairie area. Just had my RNY @ UW w/Dr. Garren on 8/7 so I am 1 wk post-op. All went great and surprisingly I feel really good!:-)
  8. Hoping today is another step foward Lisa, we're almost a week out!:-)
  9. Awesome! I did better with water too yesterday. I know what you mean about the shakes.lol I tried a sample pack of Nectar's chocolate truffle and vanilla wafer before surgery and thought they were good so I bought the canister of chocolate, yeah not a fan, just yet.lol.
  10. Hi Lisa! I too had my surgery on Wednesday and I too am struggling. As I mentioned in another post I can't seem to get past feeling full when all I do is sip sip sip. I too am having a very hard time getting in my water and protein because of this. Just know you are not alone and we'll get through it.:-) Thank God for all these wonderful people and their reassurance, right?!:-)
  11. That's me too, just such an unpleasant feeling. I put a call into my PA, was told just to continue to sip, sip, sip.:-/
  12. Vicky I'm with you. I'm 5 days out and I swore I was feeling hunger almost immediately after surgery. I too have not had any neasau or vomiting (knock on wood). The only feeling I've had is the fullness from even just "sipping" water. They discharged me on a pureed diet, but that ain't happening just yet. I'm just having a hard time getting in my liquids.
  13. This is me too! Surgery was on Wednesday and they sent me on on a pureed diet, no matter how little I eat in the 20 mins, I feel full for hours following. It's a miserable feeling, I feel for you.
