Hey Twyla! I'm glad you did OK, but your prep nurse what a jack@$$. I'm an RN too and I can't believe that other professionals behave so unprofessionally. Imagine prepping a mom for a C/S and telling her how your best friend's kid turned out to be a huge brat, or disabled or whatever. Nurses like that should be fired stat! Post another update, ok?

Hey Bill, I wondered where you'd been! Good luck and much courage for tomorrow! You know we are all behind you 100% and will be anxious to read your first post-op report!

I found out this week (liquids) that I have more time on my hands with less cooking, less eating, etc. I told the family "it's fend for yourself week gang!" but I have the good fortune to have grown kids! I actually made myself exercise for 45 mins and it helped with the hunger - which seems odd, but I heard it was true so I went on faith. It worked! Right now though, I'm thinking of what I can blenderize that will qualify as liquids, but I'm sure that's cheating!

I will add you Oct newbies tomorrow, Sunday. I HAVE to pay my bills online before my internet service gets shut down, LOL! Everyone see today's update of the Roll Call. I just found another 4 names to add, which I will do tomorrow, I promise!

Wow thank you Sonic! Hey you're not in our monthly support group yet. Go over to the "monthly support group" section, look for "OCt 07" and you will find the TENaciousTENS. We're about 120 strong now, and there are people having surgery on YOUR date. Come introduce yourself, and I can add you to the ROLL CALL if you like, so check that thread out. Again, thank you SO much for this updated list, I'm on my way out to be sure I have everything on it - my surgery is Tues!

I'm self pay too. I get an employee discount (work at the hospital as a nurse) so my cost is around $15,500. It includes 4 month membership at the local health club with coaching from an exercise physiologist; a year of fills; all the lab work, hospital costs, anesthesia, support group for life, etc. It was a killer to cough up the money, but hey I figure if I am healthier I can work 4 months longer beyond some future "retirement" and will earn it all back. And meanwhile, I'll have the life I've wanted for so long. Totally worth it. I didn't have to take out a loan (I had savings) but I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Sillybro -- you're in the wrong place at the moment --- go on over to the "Monthly Support Groups" section; >> Oct 07 >> and you will find like 120 people there that are all getting banded in October. A whole bunch got banded on YOUR date, and we're waiting for you! We WANT YOU!

According to the lastest version (today's) of the ROLL CALL, there are 30 of us who are scheduled during the first 6 days of October! At my support group, a recently banded woman gave a useful tip: get yourself some sports bras, because underwires are REALLY uncomfortable right after surgery. (sorry guys, this ain't for you!)

I made the mistake of going out for a huge pastrami sandwich on my "last supper" day (yesterday), and now today on liquids I was so hungry. I'd done so well too, losing weight before surgery and my appetite had really decreased, but after the big pastrami-feast I make it more difficult for myself. My advice is to take the "last supper" easy, or not at all!

Amen, and AMEN! The Lord desires a full and healthy life for us, and He will bless each and every one as we walk in faith towards His desire for us. When you get scared or weary - take a moment of stillness and let Him comfort you. In ALL things praise His name. Thank you Lord!

Wow you guys, can you believe it's finally happening? Now MistyDTX, sbee, and catnip_addict are already done. I'm thinking of you all, and will bow my head tonight and say a prayer for you all. I also see I have some new names to add to the TENacousTENS list, so I'll get to working on that! Keep posting about your post-op experiences, the good/bad/ugly because we're all here for you!
