  1. Another update.

Yesterday I had xrays with dye to make sure everything is going where it should be through my pouch & intestine. My dr wasn't at the appointment, unfortunately. I hope to have results by middle of next week.

Its been more than 3 wks that I've been heaving up to 6x per day. I'm barely eating or drinking. I'm taking antacid & anti nausea pills but half the time they come back up.

I had to cut back my work hrs and I've now been fired.

I'm not sure that the surgery was worth all this.

  2. I made a sugar free strawberry Jello cake tonite. Used a sugar free cake mix and instead of eggs and oil used a can of diet 7up. Baked it and when done poked hiles and poured strawberry sugar free jello. Gonna top with lite cool whip. Delicious and I don't feel guilty for having a piece!!

My sister likes doing this too but I think she does raspberry gingerale and its not diet.

I have been looking for diet cream soda for about a month. It was one of my favorite things in the summer & I'm hoping I can make it into slush, get rid of the carbonation. It would be a sweet treat for special days.

  3. I am bummed too crisg.

I got anti nausea & new antacid pills on Wednesday and they don't seem to be working much at all. I've tried taking one before the other, both at the same time. This afternoon I'll try crushing the nausea ones up and mixing in to yogurt.

But I've still been sick 3-4x per day. I've eaten less than 500 calories per day for over a week.

I really don't know what else to do. I've seen the dr and he's ordered another endoscopy for a couple of weeks from now. We were both really hoping that these pills would help.

  4. I use vita-vim chewable vitamins, they might be jamieson brand.

I got to see a dr today. He gave me a prescription for a different antacid that I'll try tomorrow. Also got a scrip for anti nausea, tried it 15min ago and its staying down alright.

I was getting to the point where Water was even making me nauseous. In the past 4 days I had 2 bites of banana, 2 tbsp yogurt, half cup Soup and maybe 5 cups of water. Was drinking some g2 Gatorade trying to get electrolytes.

  5. I know what you mean girl! I feel the same way! I haven't been throwing up but I have been dry heaving and passing out. Bloodwork doesn't show anything but elevated liver function which just makes it look like I'm an alcoholic when in fact I don't even drink except once in a blue moon. I haven't been able to work since April so I know where you're coming from there too! I had a ct scan this past Wednesday and I haven't gotten any results from that yet' date=' so still waiting. My family practice dr and surgeon both want me to get a full cardiac work up and liver work up to see what's going on. I'm 8 weeks out too and my surgeon wants me to gain 10 pounds! How am I supposed to do that???? I'm at 128 now. Ugh! Seems like this whole 10 months from sleeve to bypass has been a nightmare for me![/quote']

I'm really sorry to hear you're having problems too.

I seem to be sickest on an empty stomach in the morning and I always heave too, nothing but spit comes out. I was sick as many as 4-5 times per day 2 weeks ago but now its 1-2 per day.

I'm wondering if it could be hypoglycemia or something like that. Maybe my kidneys cuz (sorry tmi) sometimes when I pee it burns or I feel like I have to pee when I really don't.

  6. I've been having trouble lately. I had a scope on oct 10 and have taken prevacid since then. I felt fine the first few days but in the past 5 days I've thrown up 1/2 times per day.

Its making it hard to go back to work full time and I think I'm getting depressed. I'm going to try to get a dr and nutritionist appt next week. My diet hasn't changed much, I'm struggling to get my Protein, supposed to be 60g per day. I'm feeling frustrated. I felt better at 3-4wks post than I do at 8wks.

  7. I had my scope done at 7wks post op. I've had 2 days of being on this antacid (its called prevacid). I did heave this evening but it was right after I opened my parents smelly fridge so I don't think I'll count it. I was also given permission to use gravol for nauseau and I have taken 1 chewable fast acting tablet per day.

I was able to eat half a biscuit with Peanut Butter and about 1tbsp of chili & rice today. Sorry if this is TMI but I've been pooping it out quickly. I went approx 5 days of eating very little so I didn't poop then. Now I'm making up for it I guess.

  8. I had my surgery August 15th. I haven't had any complications so far. The only thing I have experienced is getting really sick' date=' I got extremly nauseous , started dry heaving and sweating uncontrollably. I called my doctor becasue it's been three days since this has happened and he said it sounds like low blood sugar and when I feel like this to sip on some apple juice , hard candy or glucose tablets. I just find this so strange as I wasn't diabetic before my surgery and also I have gone a day without eating before.

Since this has happened I still feel nauseous and I really don't want to eat but am forcing some food down...blah!

On a good note my incisions are seeming to heal nicely. I've been using silicon scar pads and Vitamin E oil. I have been getting some compliments about looking like I've lost weight especially in my face and I do notice it in some of my clothes but as I'm sure we all can agree on the weight isn't coming off were I want it lol![/quote']

I've also experienced dry heaving for a week or so. I had an endoscopy this morning to see if my hole had shrunk too much but it hadn't. Mr docs solution was to re-prescribe an antacid that I was on for 4 weeks post op. It looks like I have some erosion of the stomach lining that could potentially become an ulcer.

  9. I'm also scared of what my dr/nutritionist will say next week. I've been getting ~10g Protein per day when my goal is 60. At least I'm staying hydrated.

I absolutely cannot drink any more shakes, they make me sick even thinking about it.

What I have been eating is mostly good like chicken, hard boiled egg. I've had some mashed banana with Peanut Butter.

I have been walking approx 4000 steps every day.

Yesterday I was sick twice, I don't know if its part of not eating, coming down with something or my period coming on.

  10. How much walking are you all doing? I'm doing about 15 minutes twice a day' date=' but I feel like I could start doibg more. And frankly I'm bored lol. Car rides are still painful so I can't go far, and I don't have kids to take care of and my husband is self sufficient. I spent the first week having a Sons of Anarchy marathon, but there's only so many seasons ya know?[/quote']

Lol I've been watching SOA too. I'm making sure to do stairs at least 5x per day and I kind of alternate days that I go outside for a walk. I have a follow-up appt tomorrow where I'm going to ask about how much I should exercise, swimming.

  11. Have you tried the clear Isopure drink? The Apple Melon and Alpine Punch are good. Each bottle is 40g of Protein. I drink half a bottle earlier in the day then the other half in the evening. They also sell the powder to mix with Water. At GNC they are about 5 a bottle.

I haven't tried that. I did get some natural flavor Protein to add to broth, popsicles etc but I haven't tried it yet.

I fully admit that I'm not very motivated for this kind of protein. I know its important for healing, maintaining muscle & reducing hair loss, but I'm so excited for tomorrow when I can start food.

How long for all of you between starting soft food til you could do something like chicken or fish?

  12. Hi. My surgery was Aug 19. It went well. My only problem so far is getting enough Protein. After drinking it for 3 wks I've started gagging on it & can't force it down. The only way I can do it is freeze it like a fudgecicle. I've been pretty good about taking Multivitamins, liquid Calcium and getting enough Clear liquids.

    Pre liquid diet weight 387lbs

    Surgery weight 375lbs

    Current weight 355lbs

I have a follow-up meeting with my doc & nutritionist on Wed where I hope to get permission to drive & start soft foods.

I did nibble on some cheese last night & it went well in my pouch. I can't wait for cottage cheese lol

  13. Hey everyone. I am 10 days post & I am literally gagging on my Protein Shakes. I know I should follow my doctors advice (I have an appt on Sept 4 to see him) but I don't know how much longer I can force myself to drink this s$&t.

What I'm wondering is how long did you have to wait before trying soft foods? And if you did eat them before your dr advised, were there any bad effects? Thanks.
