Where are you going to be a year from now?

I just wanted to let you know how much what you shared made me smile. To read about others accomplishing what I dream to is very inspiring. Goals for a year from now? I want to be able to race my husband everywhere and beat him haha. I'd also like to be able to play a basketball game and keep up with all the regular sized people (which may be me by then!). And I want to be able to bench press my body weight.

How to take vitamins after surgery

Most of the vitamins you will need after surgery will be chewable, so shouldn't be too bad with gag reflex.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I jogged for the very first time on the treadmill today. Jogging/running again is my number 1 dream, top of all of my WLS related goals. I seriously have dreams at night about being able to do this. I had to fight hard to hold back the tears, even now it is still pulling my strings.

Does anyone use a crockpot for meats?

Definitely. I like it best for cooking chicken. I season a whole chicken very will inside and out, put it on a bed of onion, garlic, carrots and celery in the crockpot, and set on low for 6 hours. Very tender and juicy.

    Yoghurts

Get a tub of plain yogurt, and mix in any sugar free jam or syrup you enjoy. This is my favorite way to get sugar free flavored yogurt.

    What ya eating tonight?

Breakfast for dinner. Nomz! Chicken breakfast sausage, egg, and green onion scramble with some hot sauce on top. Good and very filling stuff. No problem sticking to the 1/3 portion with that meal.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

I have recently rededicated myself to working out every day. It is incredible how good my body feels even in the first few days! I'm lazy and would usually always have an excuse for not exercising, but let me tell you from the first day I dedicated myself to doing it I want to do it more and more. I love the confidence it gives me in how I move my body, and the sense of accomplishment I feel knowing I started the day ahead in my goals by putting that time to exercise in. Combined with following my recommended diet, I feel absolutely empowered in a way I have not felt before. For all those struggling, do your best to commit yourself to moving more and you will 100% be rewarded for your effort.

    August Post Ops

I started at 376 day of surgery, and today was 314. I think exercising is really making my weightloss pick back up again. With perseverance, I'll make my 6 month appointment at or below 300.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Walking for longer periods of time is so much less painful now. That is so what I really wanted. Baaic things like being able to walk or stand for a few hours are taken for granted way too easily.

    My 600lb life

I watch as well and like to see this journey from the perspectives of others. Penny was sad. You could tell there were moments where she knew the choices she was making were wrong, but she loves food too much to stop. She is someone who really needs to work with a therapist and talk with other WLS patients to gain perspective. I think she really is so in love with food that she doesn't care that it is separating her from real life and most importantly her child. I wonder if she ever thinks, "Do I want this bowl of fried wontons, or do I want to live?" I know I think that, and had to think that way to want this bad enough. When you get to a certain point, it really legit is a matter of losing weight and making better choices, or dying. Do I want this bag of cheeseburgers, or do I want to live to see my kid graduate? I wish I could sit down with her in person and tell her this. I really really do.

    What ya eating tonight?

Chicken breast stuffed with feta, cranberries, pinenuts, and spinach. It was ok, but I'm thinking snacky type meals sound better lately. And cheese, my nemesis.

This sounds really good! I will try this.

    What ya eating tonight?

I get a a prepackaged version of roasted chickpeas by Saffron Road. Love the seasoning they use. I do make my own from dried chickpeas sometimes, but so far I can't get the flavor of mine quite the same.

    What ya eating tonight?

Chilli verde. But it turned into chilli marron lol.
  15. Just wanted to share that I tried this one and it is awesome! Very smooth, great taste. It is a little on the sweet side at 4g sugar for a serving. It also has a multivitamin, added calcium citrate, and 4g of fiber.

    Celebrate Vanilla Cake Batter Protein

I don't know about Muscle Milk. When I tried it before surgery it had a real chemically taste to it to me.

    What ya eating tonight?

Cheese and roasted chickpeas again. Been a long few days so far this week.

    What ya eating tonight?

A very nice piece of cheese (gouda parrano, it tasted like butter!), and some roasted chickpeas.

    What ya eating tonight?

I've been baking banana protein muffins lately and peddling them to my coworkers. For some reason I like baking even more now than before when I could eat it all.

    Celebrate Vanilla Cake Batter Protein

Celebrate. They make a variety of bariatric supplements as well, but I haven't tried them.

    What ya eating tonight?

Steak. Wish I could like fish and shellfish again. I always loved it, but since surgery the flavor and smell bother me. Smoked salmon I can eat a little, but everything else I just don't like.

    How about some NSVs!?!?

Do it! Kayaking is high on my goals list along with bike riding. I live in Washington state so it has to wait until summer, but I will totally be small enough for it by then.

    What ya eating tonight?

Bacon and an egg. I think I over did it on the bacon and will likely now stay away from that stuff for a couple months. Blah.

    What ya eating tonight?

Carpaccio. It's...different. I think the dressing I made just doesn't go. Just some olive oil, lemon, and salt and pepper would have been best. Maybe a bit of granulated garlic.
