  1. I found out my insurance denied the preauthorization about a month ago. I have been tracking down notes from every doctor I have seen for the past 10+ years and finally delivered it all to my surgeon's office this afternoon. The scheduler faxed 98 pages to my insurance company...now to wait for some good news! Please' date=' if you are so inclined, say a little prayer for me. I am so ready to do this.[/quote']

Prayers and good thoughts coming your way. Good luck !!

  2. So those 34 pounds I was required to loose before my second appointment well they are officially gone!! I am down to 450!! I can't believe I actually did it! It's been a rough 8 weeks. I fell down a few times but I always got back up again. I am now waiting on the nurse to call me to see if I can get my second appointment. I don't have high hopes yet I figure the doctor is going to try to throw me another curve ball. But fingers and toes crossed and down on my knees praying that he lets me start the rest of the process. I'm so ready to get my date and start the rest of my new life!! Thank you to everyone here that has said kind words to me!! I really appreciate everything! I also want to thank everyone who posts here. I enjoying reading everyone's stories and advice. It really helps a newbie out on what to expect!

Congrats...I knew you could do it!!! Keep up the good work.

  3. I was just reading a book i bought on RNY last nite and it was saying how after bypass' date=' we have more gas, more frequently, and bad smell, and more forceful...LOL, I didnt write it, just sayin'......its because our intestines are shorter...[/quote']

What's the name of the book please?

  4. Did you have your surgery at UCSF? My surgeon was Dr. Carter. We are about 3 1/2 hours away from SF but I thought it was worth the travel to be in such expert hands!

My surgery was done by Dr Pamela Foster at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. My insurance is the reason otherwise I would have preferred it at Mills Peninsula in Burlingame.

I personally did lots of research and felt very comfortable with my surgeon.

How are you doing so far?

  5. I'm not looking forward to the required pre-op complete physical. And' date=' I've not been to a gynecologist in a LONG time due to lack of insurance and embarrassment over my weight. Anyway, exactly how do you prep your lady parts (beyond soap/water) for the exam?[/quote']

My pre-op consisted of lab work and doctor checking my vitals. I didn't have anything else.
