    Feeling so frustrated!

    I guess it matters to me now because I'm trying to get my second appointment. After the surgery as long as I hit my goal I don't think I'm really going to care about the scale. At home I'm 3 pounds away from my goal(naked and first thing in the morning lol) but at then doctors I'm still 10 pounds out. I was hoping to hit my goal Friday but I don't think I'm going to hit it. Maybe next Friday. I'm just ready to start my new life. Ready to get this show on the road!!

    Help Meeeeee

    Hello my name is Terri and I have to loose 34pounds before I get my second appointment. Right now I am down about 28 but it fluctuates everyday. I started with drinking an Atkins shake for Breakfast. Then for lunch I eat some turkey breast lunch meat. I get the meat that is low fats. It's like 50 calories per serving which is like 8 slices. Then I eat either some cottage cheese or some string cheese and maybe a grapefruit or some grapes. I do the same for dinner or eat a can of Soup. I don't drink pop and I try not to eat any breads or pastas. It's really hard to change your eating habits. I have struggled with weight issues my whole life. Just cut back on fast food and fatty foods. My nutritionist said read labels and try to get things that are under 5grams of fat and has higher Protein. It's going to be hard but if you start with small steps you will get I to a routine. I still have a ways to go and these last few are my hardest. Good luck and maybe we can be our surgeries scheduled for the same day! Also people on here are so supportive they will give you any advice that they can to help you out. I have learned a lot here and I have only been here about a month.

    I am going to start going in the early mornings to weigh in. I don't have to have an appointment to weigh in since I'm just trying to get to my second appointment goal. I have to be 450 to get the appointment.

    I think I am going to do that next time I go weigh in. I'm so close to my goal for my second appointment and I don't want 3 or 4 pounds to stop me. I need to be 450 to get my appointment.

    The only good thing about my doctors is that the scale is in a room all by itself. I might just strip next time. Especially if I am only a few pounds off.. Close your eyes!!lol

    I didn't want to ask but heck my shirt weighs at least 3pounds by it self. It's a 7xl. Lol I felt like she would have looked at me crazy. So I didn't. Lol I'm sure I could have gotten down to at least 458, 459 lbvs

    Lol no I meant 456. I just fixed it. I was typing to fast. And yeah everyone says they weigh more in the afternoon. And I usually weigh my self just like you. Lol naked and just peed early in the morning. Lol to bad I can't go weigh in like that. I would be 453. My doctors scale is always 5 pounds heavier also. Thanks for the encouragement!! I sure need it!!

    Today was the first time I worked out in let's say for-NEVER!! I have never worked out. I'm 33and I am pre op and I currently weigh about 465. I started at 484 on July 5th. So usually I try to go swimming twice a week or when ever I can get a baby sitter for my adopted one year old and two foster children oh and my 3day care kids. Yes I have a zoo from 9 to 5. It's hard to get someone to come watch the zoo. So it's hard to get out of the house. Today I finally had my aunt who volunteers twice a week for me so I can go and swim. I took my 10 year old foster daughter with me and we both were so excited to finally swim after being cooped up for a whole week. We get to the hotel were I pay a monthly member ship at and we walk to the door happy with smiles from ear to ear. And what's on the door a note saying the pool was closed today because of a pump going out. So instantly our smiles turned to frowns. Well I told her lets go see and make sure since we drove all the way there. So we went into the pool area and sure enough it was closed. I was so mad I finally got out of the house today after not swimming since last Thursday and we can't even go. So I was walking out and then as soon as I hit the door to go out side it dawned on me they have a full gym lets go in there and see what I can do. So we go into the gym and instantly my foster daughter was in heaven she's trying out all the equipment. I was just standing there stuck trying to figure out what I could actually do in there. So I walk over to a weight thingy( I told you I never worked out I don't no any names of the equipment but a treadmill lol) it's the sit down and pull down bar thing. So I set the weight at 30 pounds and I gave myself a goal of 50. Well at about 15 my arms were on fire. Then I quickly changed my goal to 20. I finished that goal. So then I got on the treadmill. I set my goal at 5 minutes. Now mind you I hardly walk. The most walking I do is to the restroom or to the kitchen. I ride scooters at the stores. Since I dislocated my knees the most recent was in April they hurt really bad when I walk. So around 1 and a half minutes I start to slip. My knees where hurting my back was hurting I was sweating. So I set my goal to 2 minutes instead of 5. 3 calories burned!! Onto the next thing. The next one was a curl arm weight. Where you pull the weights up and your arms curl up. I set the weight and I set my goal to 20. Well by 8 I was tired and my arms were burning. So I quickly changed that goal to 10. I finished that goal and moved on to the next thing which was a sit down lean back kind of bike thing. Lol . So I set a goal of at least 2 minutes. Well lets just say I made it about 20 times round and I was done. 2 Calories burned! Woohoo my first ever workout and it lasted a total of 5 whole minutes!! I guess you can say its a start. I never would have imagined that I would be here weighing 465 pounds. Not being able to do normal things like ride a bike or walk for that matter. Today I realized I have to set goals. I've never had any before. I set goals today and I might not have reached them today but if I keep on working at it I will reach them eventually!! My motivation is my will to live. My will to be here to see my daughter grow up. Staying over weight is not going to allow me to see that. Thank you everyone here for listening to me ramble and being here for me when I am feeling discouraged! My first5 minute work out is complete and next time go swim I will try it all over again. Hopefully that will be tomorrow. (If I can find a sitter lol) The picture is my daughter. My motivation!!

    Aww thanks! It's hard trying to loose weight on you own. I went swimming today and I just couldn't get the courage up to go back in the gym. But I did get 2 hours of swimming in. I guess I will try again tomorrow.
  18. I changed my weight loss goal today. 50 less then my first goal. I want to push myself further!!

  19. So I just put on a pair of my capri's. Usually after I wash and dry them I have to struggle to get the on until they stretch out. Today they just slid right on. No effort at all. I didn't have to fight. I weighed myself today on my home scale and I am down 31 pounds. It fluctuates about 5 pounds through out the day. And as long as I'm under 460 I'm happy. That's 24 pounds down. Now I'm going to fight to get these last few pounds off so I can get my second appointment!! My appointment weight is 450. Thanks for listening. I really don't have anyone around me that cares to hear my looser stories.

    What motivates you?

    My main motivation is my one year old daughter. Everyday she amazes me with something new. I cringe at the thought of not seeing her grow up. Next I would like to walk without pain. Not have high blood pressure. Shop till I drop at a cheap store. Not have to order my clothes and then try them on and send them back when the don't fit right. The process takes at least 6 weeks. Ride the boat ride at the county fair. Last time rode it I was15 and I could hardly fit then. Take a vacation and ride in a plane. My list can go on and on. Thinking one day I will be able to do these things is the reason I keep going.

    Welcome Shannel! My name is Terri and I just joined a few weeks ago. I am also pre surgery. I had my first appointment on July 5th and my doctor wants me to loose 34 pounds before he will start my process. I'm down about 20 so far but it's been a struggle. I have also been a prisoner to food my whole life. My highest weight was 491. I started at 484 at my appointment. When I reach 450 I can have my second appointment. It's a journey I am taking and glad to see you starting yours again! It might have been a blessing your first surgery was canceled. You might not be here right now. Well anyway glad to meet you and glad your here!!
