  1. Hi! I have been battling kidney issues since January. Of course I have friends and family that right away blame my RNY. After much testing, many procedures, and surgery found out it wasn't a stone but a birth defect that was previously undiagnosed. My urologist said this he see allot of people with kidney stones after surgery. He thinks it's lack of Water. Even though I didn't have a stone, when they removed one of the stent it had allot of crystallization. I thought I was getting plenty of Water so I need to remain vigilant with that. It's been the worse 4 months for me. I need to get back on track with my habits. I can barely eat and I am sick all the time I eat whatever I think I can hold down. So I am definitely not getting enough Protein.

    Thanks for listening!!

  2. Hi! Things are going well. I still get nervous that I will slip into old habits. Since no diet was ever successful I worry. I have been feeling hungrier lately.

I am down 88 from surgery, 115 since the start of my journey 3/22/2013. Clothes are strange...I fit into different sizes. I have pants that are 12 and some 14. My shirts are still big xl. Measurement wise I haven't lost anything into chest so that could be why!

  3. Congrats ChrisG that is so great! I wish I was that far too. I am doing good but maybe I could be doing better. Last April I was 319. Date if surgery I was 287 on 8/13. I am now at 226. I was hoping to be further along. Do you have any advise?

I think you are doing great! I feel like my loss has slowed allot. I always worry this is going to be as far as I can go.

I have been sick the last month with kidney issues so I haven't worked out. Today I weighed myself and it's says I am up a pound from last Friday. I don't get it!!

  4. <p>Kidney problems as a result of the surgery are not unheard of but are not common. You might find this article from the National Institutes of Health to be helpful. Get well soon and congratulations on your weight loss!</p> <p> </p> <p><a data-ipb='nomediaparse' href='http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2931293/'>http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2931293/</a></p>

    Thanks!!

  5. Hi!! Anyone hear of kidney issues after surgery?? I was in the hospital for a few days. They never saw a stone but we're treating me as if it passed. They sent me home on heavy antibiotic and I got a follow ultrasound. I still have a blockage but they don't see a stone. They compare it to am ultrasound I had in May as part of my surgery pre testing. It was normal then. Now I am scheduled for a scope next Monday.

  6. <p>I have been doing badly since thanksgiving too...I was just thinking about it and when i look back on my fitness pal it proves it....It was just like I feel off the wagon and cant get back on...one party after another..one dinner after another...I hate holidays, and now I feel like I cant get back on track!!... :(</p>

That's how I feel. I keep reminding myself I didn't come this far to give up. Today is a new day and I am starting over.
