For packing in your day bag, Quest Bars are great. I can only eat half of one at a time.
For planning your food while in WDW http://allears.net/dining/menu/ is my go to site.

Yes I have the same problem. Plain Water is like broken drinking glass to me. SF powdered drink mix is a life saver.

The first month after surgery your main concern is gwetting your fluids and your protiens. It will be all consuming but you won't heal if you don't do it.
Eating twice a day is not a successful way to eat, as you must have learned by now. You will need to relearn your relationship with food in order to be successful. Maybe you will find the help you need with your local Support Gruop?

I agree with Trever. Once you are home from the hospital, your body with tell you if you drank too fast. But don't worry, it's not a long pain. It's more like a reminder to slow down.It took me 20 minutes to drink 8oz of Water at first. Now I can drink that in about 5 minutes.

I don't know if I can agree with the idea that "ALL" pain is the fault of the pouch owner.
I have aquired many food intolerances just recently. In the beginning I couldn't keep chicken or turkey down, now almost all meats upset my pouch. I wouldn't say that's my fault.
As for hunger?
Some weeks I'm never hungry and others I am eating every three hours. I think once you find a system that works for you, stick to it.
I definately think what is the hardest thing since my surgery is getting my fluids. I have to make a conscience effort to get my fluids in.

I'm so nervous, I have an appt with Lemanski coming up and I should have lost 8 to 10lbs by now and I'm ONLY down 1lb!
I'm afraid I'm going to be yelled at :-\
I only recently saw the dietician, wish I saw her earlier
Don't feel too bad. I ended up rescheduling my appointment.
I would suggest you reschedule also. It's going to be pointless to see him if you haven't completed your goal. He isn't going to give you any good pointers.

I had an episode today with granola, so I can safely say I won't be trying it again any time in the near future! It was terrible. I still feel woozy. It was a textbook dump. Dizzy, shaky, lightheaded, nauseated, cold sweats, palpitations... it was terrible. These things happen. I'm not quite 4 months out and I am still learning.
I had two episodes of dumping two years before surgery. Both times were from eating something high in corn Syrup and nothing else for too long (one was Dum Dums).
Since surgery I have been religious about reading labels so I figured I wouldn't have a problem WRONG!!!!!
I mixed Kashi Go with a Dannon Lite & Fit. WHOLLY CRAP!!! That was a terrible experience. Never again. Live and learn I guess.

Hey all!!!
I haven't checked into BP since my surgery week in February. I would have to say I have come across two issues since the surgery.
1. I have become just terrible at getting my fluids in. Pre-surgery I was a diet soda/coffee drinker. On the plus side all my headaches are gone.
2. I have no found the optimal calorie intake for weight loss. I can go days with 600 calories and no loss but then one day have two pounds off with no rhyme or reason. Can anyone suggest a good NUT? I am not going back to Lamanski.
What Support groups is everyone attending?
It's been great hearing everyone's success.

Agree. But Dr Oz is just another Oprah star pandering to what ever will get his crowd to make infomercial gasps and such. He is a tool.

One week post OP here in Albany. I bought about $60 worth of whey products. Ready To Drink shakes. I cannot drink them. Is anyone out there interested in these products? Four have been opened but never drank out of, I poured into cups. Three unopened ISOpures. I don't want anything for them. I just want them to get used.,

I don't know about your other problems but I can atest to the Gall Bladder. You won't believe how that lil bugger can make everything feel real crappy.
The worst part is rapid weight loss makes it worse. For years I always thought I had a stomach bug. I was on a diet that i lost 55 pounds in three months and after that it never stopped hurting all over my abdomen. Once they took it out I was amazed how everything was the fault of my gall bladder.
Good luck.

I'm in Albany. My Roux en Y surgery is Tuesday.

I'll be having my Roux en Y with Dr Trivedi this Tuesday. He is very charismatic.
I look forward to both St Pete's and Albany Meds support groups.

I am actually sitting here with my mouth agape by the incredibly uncompassionate things being said here.
I cannot imagine what would possess someone to come to a place of support and treat people in such a manner. How shameful.

This is why they say you can never go back. Her house, her rules.
You're not talking about a lot of time before you are back driving so I think that no matter whether you feel that your mom is too harsh or not, it is her house.
MAybe it might be more restful to go home and ask someone to do your shopping for you. If mom can't do the stairs I'm sure DS would rather empty grandma trunk of groceries than live with her.
Being the mom of two teens, one with Autism, I feel I can safely say unless there is a disability a 13 year old should be able to assist in making meals for a few weeks. It has never hurt a child to have a task or two. While I am in the hospital next week it will be my youngest's job to make my puddings with protien powder and Jello and keep the kitchen straight.

In the past I used Medifast for five months. If it works for someone that's great. But it isn't the "Right" way by far. Any time you replace healthy foods with a powder you mix with Water, it's not the right way.
I think they might be hurting. For about a month now I have recieved an email from them daily. I use to get them maybe twice a month.

It's mainly an interview to verify that you understand what a huge life altering process you are undertaking. They will also look at what support you have and what other stressors you have in your life. So folks have taken a lengthy multiple choice form as well.

I guarentee the smell is Ketosis not your drinks.
http://www.buzzle.com/articles/ketosis-symptoms.html
You can try keeping some mints of you but you are probably exuding it through your pours as well. Body spray isn't going to mask it. Normal BO is from the bacteria's byproducts , AKA bacteria poop. This smell is actually caused from the Ketones leaving your body as your blood dumps it. It is possible that raising your Water intake, not any fluids, plain Water, may dilute it a bit.

Either way it will pass as your body gets regulated. Unfortunately time will not help your coworkers. They will still be A$$es.

Should you take paper panties or normal ones?
What are paper panties?

I was Dx with obstructive sleep apnea due to narrow throat. I had a Bipap machine for three months and hated it. I didn't feel as if I was sleeping better. I returned it. I do snore and of course snore worse when I'm heavy. But just 20 pounds lights and I snore less.
The ENT Dr did say there is a surgery to remove all the excess flesh but I think I'll pass.

I'm right with you with my fear of failure. I have failed so many times before. For me this is a last stitch effort as deciding to have this surgery was no easy choice.
Seriously?!

I found when I was still healing my food had to be really wet. Maybe some gravy might help it go down better.
Since my surgery I have found that foods I loved in the past, tuna and chicken, just don't agree with me anymore. If your looking for something non-sweet how bout refried Beans?
