  1. So sorry! Are you keeping fruits and veggies in your fridge? And cooking meals? Are you eating too much white bread? Are you keeping a food diary? I have a homemade spicy Mexican Cauliflower cheese soup that i can have without feeling guilty, still lose weight on it . I gave up white bread and sodas completely. Only eat whole grains- only eat bread once a day No rice, no pasta. Eat mostly stirfry pad thai veggies with chicken, turkey burgers with veggies, mozzarella & spaghetti sauce. I love mushrooms & zucchini - but I cheat plenty, too & Dont exercise much- just a little walking. My NUT says only eat beef only once a month. Lost 35 pounds preop. Guess i am kinda proud of that. Though skinny people dont believe it... Just got my surgery date today, September 3! Yay! Hope to stomp out my diabetes and insulin! Let me know if you want recipes. You really just have to cook your own food. Restaurants are expensive, fast food is not healthy. I rarely eat salads- i feel sorta punished eating salads. Good Luck & let us know how you are doing. .
  2. Finally! My surgery date is September 3! Woohoo !
  3. I try to keep my refrigerator stocked with healthy foods, and my favorite recipes, so i wont get fast food or junk bcuz theres nothing in the house.
  4. Okay i am posting again I make veggie stirfry at least once a week. Use Sunbird Stirfry and Pad Thai brand powdered mixes I Cut 1 onion into strips Fresh Peapods -1-2 cups - stringless is best 1/2 cauliflower sliced 2-3 carrots sliced 1 red pepper sliced or big squares. Stirfry the vegetables in 2 tablespoons of grapeseed oil- about 5 minutes Meanwhile mix the StirFry mix as directed, using splenda instead of sugar. Then add 2 tablespoons Peanut Butter and 1 teaspoon of Sunbird Pad Thai mix . Simmer and stir to mix up. I add rotisserie chicken cut up to this. The Pad Thai adds a little spice to the stirfry, the peanut butter calms the spice down. If you like garlic add a teaspoon too. I brought this to work the other night, male nurses really like the way my food smells! Guess i will have to bring a full batch to share. If you plan on leftovers, dont add all the chicken. I freeze my chicken in servings/baggies to bring to work, dont thaw it until im ready to eat it. Leftover chicken tastes funky from the refrigerator . My nut says to avoid corn and all corn products. I dont eat noodles or rice anymore, really cut back on breads- whole grains only.
  5. The important thing is you are okay. Enjoy the boy & doggies!
  6. Wow i am so jealous preop but what an inspiration you losers are!
  7. OMG is my brain losing weight too? I forgot to mention also add 2/4 cup medium spicy totinos salsa. Sheesh!
  8. Are you drinking sodas? Retains Water. Definitely need to use a food diary. Have you seen my mexican caulifloewer cheese Soup? Full of veggies and i lost 30 pounds, ate a batch almost every week.
  9. And call permanent dibs on the bathroom!
  10. Magnesium citrate- - its a clear liquid in bottle near milk of magnesia, etc. at walmart or other fine pharmacies...
  11. Snap your fingers in the air and yell, "NEXT!"
  12. I hope i am done with my preop binging. Those darn ff burgers are over 700 calories! If i have fries im completely screwed.
  13. You can do it TeTe. 17 pounds is half way! I got my 30pounds off, I did cheat. I had Russell Stovers sugarfree chocolates for my biggest cheat. Mostly i gave up bread completely- its my biggest foil. But i practically lived on this Soup - ate 2-3 bowls to fill me up and still lost weight. Mexican Cauliflower cheese Soup. 1 head of cauliflower 1 whole onion 3 carrots optional 5 stalks celery optional 1 red bell pepper optional Chop the veggies and simmer in a little Water til soft- about 20 minutes. Then transfer veggies to food processor and puree them with vegetable or chicken broth -at least 1 can Final ingedients- add 1 can of Jalopeno Cheese Dip, Add more broth as desired (i usually use at least 2 cans broth) Add sour cream 1 cup. Use less or more sour cream depending how spicey you like it. Serve it hot. I am hoping to put Protein powder in this after surgery. I love this stuff, make it about 1 x a week, its a big batch... My 6 yr old Grandnephew who hates veggies loves this soup. And his mommy loves it too!
  14. Good luck 24thers, wish it was me too.
  15. Ask nurse for something to help you relax as soon as you get there... Ativan is our friend!
  16. The 12-18 month window means the bypass will continue to help you lose weight up to 18 months, but after that, your behavior/diet habits determine if you keep it off or lose more.
  17. Good luck! Hope to join you soon!
  18. Hope you feel better- it will help you be less hungry... I got food poisoning on a princess cruise 2 years ago, it lasted 12 hours but i didnt get my appetite back all week- all that cruise food wasted on me! And my friend was worried about me- it was best diet for me... Anyway, feel better.
  19. Oh yes, diet pepsi is my devil! And diet mountain dew! I gave it up in march 2013, didnt drink it for 3 months, but recently i have had it when i go out... But it makes me flushed and sweat, and doesnt taste as good as it used to. So i think i can resist. Still preop, waiting on insurance and a date.
  20. Also have been trying out protein bars. By far i would say "Supreme Protein" is best, i have tried others but texture and taste , their caramel nut chocolate and caramel nut are the best. I order from Low-Carbs-R-Us.com.
