You're lucky you got to throw it up! I can't ever seem to throw up anymore no matter how miserable I am!!!!!Surgery date 7/25/12
I have a friend who can't throw up either since surgery. She just dry heaves and has a lot of spit. She says it is miserable so I feel for you. So far I haven't had to test weather I can throw up or not. Only a two weeks out of surgery and thankfully I have only been a little nauseous not a actually sick yet.

I havent been told a month on liquid diet- dont think i could stand it b4 surgery. They have had me on 1300 calorie mediterranean diet for 3-4 months' date=' going to education, nutrition exercise classes... When i get my surgery date i will be on 1100 calories/day for two weeks, but they didnt say liquids only-- i guess everybody gets a different plan.Anyway i Lost 30 lbs...but It took forever to jump through their preop hoops. Now just waiting on insurance, and backsliding on my diet. Probably gained back 10lb this week- im afraid to check. Im a big bad cheater this week.[/quote']
I've done pretty good about not cheating. I was told the purpose of the two week liquid diet was to shrink my liver before surgery. Good luck and I know you'll do great.

I have to do the same thing' date=' and am so glad to hear they are filling lol. My mom wants me to do a cleanse before the liquid diet and I was like I'm counting down the days for normal food don't take that away from meeeeee lol[/quote']
Lol I know the feeling. I spent the weekend before my liquid dieting eating my favorite foods and Snacks. Good luck! It's weird the first three days were the worst for me but after that It got better.

My surgeon's office assigned me Protein shakes from Bariatric Advantage that contain fiber. They were filling and controlled hunger. I did not lose a single pound on the one-month pre-op liquid diet' date=' but it definitely shrunk my liver, which was the main goal. I wish you the greatest of success on your journey! I had surgery 9 months ago and am very glad that I did.[/quote']Thank you so much. I am glad that you are doing well.

Thanks I'm hoping once I get through the first couple of days it'll get better.

GOOD!!! I don't plan on drinking it I just like to know I can! Thank youI have a friend who had surgery about ten years ago. She drinks alcohol (she never was a big beer drinker) but still to this day gets drunk very quickly only takes one drink to get her tipsy.

It does get better' date=' I'm on day 6 and its alittle better. Not great but better! Can't believe it's 4 more weeks.[/quote']
Wait do you mean you have four more weeks on a liquid diet? I'm not sure I could do it. I only have a two week liquid diet and today has been one of the linear days ever!

This is my first day on my two week pre-op diet and all I can think about is eating. I'm thinking about just going to bed! Hope I get this under control soon.

I stored my pre-op liquid diet today and I feel like such a whimp. I keep thinking about what I would like to eat and have to remind myself that I can't have it lol. Not sure how I am going to make it without chewable food till the 14th. I'm not crazy about the Protein Shakes. Any suggestions from anyone?

Went Friday and my surgery is scheduled for July 15th. I start my two week liquid diet Monday was sure I would spend the weekend eating all my favorites but I'm finding that I don't really want anything to eat. Excited for this opportunity to create a better more active life.

Congratulations! I turned my paperwork in to our bariatric nurse navigator today...one more PCP visit and then everything can be submitted.
Good luck. Seems like the 6 month pcp visits that I had to do flew by but then once they submitted all my stuff time slowed to a crawl. Took me just a little over a week to get approval so I hope yours is a quick approval.

Found out today that I am approved!!! Yay, meeting with my surgeon on Friday to hopefully set a date that will be soon. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time but I can't wait to just start feeling better. I have my list of questions to ask but just wondered if anyone had anything they wished they had asked that they didn't think of at the time?

Finally received insurance confirmation.Congrats!

Who is your insurance company ?
Cigna

Thanks everyone...Insurance hit me a big surprise-a 3000.00 payment before I can have my surgery. I'm so frustrated but I'm working hard to come up with it. This was a mistake they made and just caught it now I'm stressing!!Oh that stinks. Hope everything works out. I have the money out up for my surgery but only jut enough so I am hoping there aren't hidden costs that the insurance company comes up with.

I have completed my 6 month diet plan required by my insurance. Now I am just waiting on approval. I'm trying not to let each day that goes by without approval freak me out but I can't help but worry until I get the call that I have been approved. Hopefully that will be soon.
