    MAY 2013 POST-OP GROUP

Hi all I'm 25lbs down since 28th may. Of course I would like it to be faster, but remember, our bodies are smart, and we plateaue. It took a while to put on the weight, let time take it off, stick to the plan, your body will adjust. I found with chewing things like chicken, I chop it into small pieces so I don't have to chew as long which helps a lot. Until now the only thing I have had trouble eating is rice, apart from that I'm happy. Good luck to all and don't be so hard on yourself.

    MAY 2013 POST-OP GROUP

Hi I had my op on may 28th. Weight loss has been slower than I was hoping but Dow as of yesterday 27 lbs so in the right direction at least. Having about 800 calories a day. I'm a male so is that too low or too much?

    Chinese

Well last nights smorgasbord went well. Just had little bits of a range of things all night. Never felt uncomfortable. Even had a deep fried ice cream treat and no reaction. My op was 28th may. No problems so far. The restaurant also let me take home a small doggy bag, when I told them I can't eat much, due to the op, so I could at least get some money's worth with a couple of extra meals the next few days. Most restaurants in Australia don't allow doggy bags, due to possible litigation, if someone claims they got food poisoning due to not refrigeraterating the food taken home. Only put on 500grams which I will loose today after a long walk.

Be careful with rice. It's the only thing that made me throw up, doctor said it would have been due to the stickiness of the rice.

    Two Weeks & Regret!

In my last post I see that the voice dictation didn't work that well is it said I did not lose any weight honestly that is not true, I lost 30 kg that could not lose any more and I needed to lose another 20, Hence why I went to a revision with bypass.

    Two Weeks & Regret!

Hi Kristy, Your body is still in shock I had a Gastric sleeve two years ago and it was a bit shocked to the body but after awhile everything settled down. On 28 May this year I had a full bypass as I have not lost weight on the sleeve, And I'm having a much better time because I think my body has had the shop before and is finding it easy this time. Hang in there it what you feel comfortable to eat don't force anything else as your body adjusts and the swelling inside goes down things will get better. Your body just simply does not know what to do with itself at the moment because everything is not natural. Once it gets used to the new normal you will feel good I promise you its not long. Again just eat what you can keep down scrambled eggs have proteins so you're fine there anything wanted vary your scrambled eggs with a few spices and just to make a little bit different so it doesn't get boring. Eg I add some cracked pepper All mixing some grated cheese into the scrambled eggs while it's cooking . I had the opposite problem after my Bypass as I didn't feel any different and didn't have restriction like the sleeve operation but I'm putting that down to this being the second major operation and my body is used to the shock. All the best James if you want to email me directly my email is. Forexoz@iinet.net.au

    MAY 2013 POST-OP GROUP

Hi. I had my op on the 28th also and yes I felt it didn't feel like anything was done. BUT I had my first bit of solid food ( two scrambled eggs ) and could only really eat two thirds of one and then felt the restriction. Was 113 jgs on the day of the op today I'm 105.9 I'm started walking yesterday and will walk every day for 30 to 45 mins. I hand a revision from sleeve to bypass. If I can just loose 1.5kgs a week I will be happy. My first goal was 9 KGS in the first month and lost 7 so far so I'm a little ahead of time. Keep in there and just go with what your body tells you.
