hi LuckyG well done. I am having a revision of my Bypass as I have put on some weight and I think its due to my stretching my pouch. the past months I had to leave my job due to arthritis in my hip and got into a grazing cycle, although it didnt click for a while, of that was what I was doing. with the sweet tooth, that is interesting. I aways had a sweet tooth and was hoping my taste buds would change or at least get severe dumping but the only dumping I got was dizzyness and sweating. would love to catch up with you if possible to get some handy tips from you. I live in mooloolaba on the coast.

Has anybody had a bypass and had then transferred to a DS switch One I have not been able to find much on it, and just wanted to know if it is a better option for revision as I have read gain some weight from the bypass after a few years, and it hit up with this and would like to know is the DS switch will help as a better revision, then just a normal bypass revision . Urgent response please

Hello it's been two years since I've had my bypass, while I lost a lot of weight due to leaving work and developing depression I have put on 12 kg and would like to know if anybody has had a revisional bypass to get weight back Back down again so that I can get my mind back into order. I feel like I cannot stop eating and I don't feel restriction any more

Main reason I have heard and read in the past, is that when you had the band in for a long time obviously your insides conform to that shape and your body needs to relax and recover its original stomach shape before you can go to the next operation for it It to be the most successful. I've had a friend that it has this done and they had to wait three months

Good luck on the 10th. Welcome to the losers club????

I'm down Niall 45 kgs and have been holding herd fir crew wekas I only want to loose another 5 kgs. DONT WORRY ITS NATURAL. IT TOOK TIME TO PUT THE WPeight on will take time to come off BUT WILL!!!!!!!

Hi Zackate,
As long as you stick to your doctors instructions and don't try and push forward faster than he recommends with different foods, listen to your body and at first you will want to eat very small amounts anyway, you will be fine. I had the sleeve done a couple of years back and didn't lose enough and then a just over a year ago I had the bypass. Both times followed directions of my doctor had no complications and feel great. With the vomiting, as your stomach is gonna be small, it's not a big vomit like you had when you been sick in the past. If you're having keyhole surgery this again lessons the amount of pain you will be in because you're not cutting open big stomach muscles. My Skype is. Renshi43 if you wish to talk to me more about it as everybody has the similar fears and concerns but happy to enter any questions that you would like. My experience was that good that if I had do this every two years I would. (not that I'm planning to put any weight back on LOL)

Hi I first had the sleeve, lost weight but didn't loose enough went from 136kgs down to 105 kgs and couldn't get lower and then started going up again. When I first went to my doctor I had originally asked for the gastric bypass and he talked me into the sleeve. Anyway I went back to him after a year and a half I was back at 113 kgs I had the bypass done and that was 12 months ago and I'm down to 91 to 93 kgs feeling so much better and yes if I had to do it all over again I would in a heartbeat. In saying that if they said I had to have the operation done every two years I wouldn't hesitate. I feel so good so healthy again it all comes down to your search and make sure you thoroughly research your surgeon and make sure they are good at what they do mine is excellent. If you want to email me for any other details I am in Brisbane Australia. Renshi42@hotmail.com

Hello James here. I live in Brisbane. First had a sleeve, which worked to an extent, then after two years had a bypass. From the start I was nearly 137 kegs now 91 and maintaining it easily and slowly loosing some more. Feel fantastic.

A few years ago I bought some clothes as goals for weight loss. I was a 5XL TOP today I can comfortably fit into one of those shirts which is a large. Dissent sound like much but to me it's fantastic. !!!!!!!!!

i agree I had the sleeve two years ago then in May had the bypass done. No problems at all, apart from head hunger, which is still a struggle. But the operation was great no problems at allIt's worth it. The worrying about it is worse than the doing itpumpkin73 reacted to this -
Hi I'm surprised also as my doc wants blood tests every three months for the first year. Remember your nut is not a doctor. Check this with him. After all he is the expert on this procedure.

Hi all it's part of the trade off we have to do. If you don't get your micro nutrients then you will get sick..after a while it just becomes a second habit. Try varying different types of Vitamins until you dind what your comfortable with but what ever you do don't stop them.

Same here. Your child won't knw he difference whether he/she started today or tomorrow as the first day whenever it is, they will remember. Not if they were a day out. Look at it like this, It was the child birthday during the week and you didn't have many kids come to the party would you rather instead make it on the weekend so all kids come? So it's not really the day but celebrating the occasion.

My daughter had RNY 14 months ago she lost 130 pounds so far and she is still loosing ! I think slower might be better cause this is something you want to do forever ! My brother in law lost weight super fast when he had RNY and as soon as he got to goal weight he stopped extersising and went back to old ways and gained his weight back . My goal is to live till I'm 85 so I don't care how fast I loose just as long as I can maintain a healthy weight the rest of my life.Exactly lori. I agree it's the rest of your life. Is brotherinlaw have a revision done?

Hi Vicks. I see you mainly eating Protein, make sure you have some veggies in another meal as I learnt that no enough of the right carbs your body will stop loosing to protect itself. Found this tip in the Atkins edit.

hi all just reading above and the comment that there are not many surgeons who do RNY my Doc does it and does it well. He is Dr Justin Greenslade and also teaches other doctors how to do it. He is a greenslopes private hospital and that hospital is great. Good experience all round
