Ajustice, In one word ....Awesome! it blows my mind how good i feel if i didnt see the leak test an saw the. digestive modifications and staple lines, i would swear the didnt do anything! very little pain. still working out the portion control issue. i have 4 oz dixie cups coming tomorrow that will help me get that issue down. since the cup is yhe approx size of the pouch it will hrlp me guage how much i can comsume....roughly. im determined NOT to strech my pouch or dump. how are you on this fine Saturday evening? best regards RJ

Had surgery on June 12th . feeling great all systems functioning normally. had some bloating and gas on friday but that passed in the morning ( no pun intended) . i have been walking my ass off since 6 hours after surgery an i have to say it has helped move things along. still have some minimal pain. but that seems to be lessing by the hour. Dr. Ing my surgeon has the touch. i have had dental work that has hurt more. I will follow the program and see him in two weeks. i feel like i could run a mile right now. hope each of the june people recover quickly. its a big world just waiting for us ! Rj
  3. Dear IAMWORTHIT, Have you been discharged yet? I know what you mean took my shower last night it was soooooo cool and refreshing , feel totally normal again. all of the body functions are working correctly . Did you experience any gas pain? I has some but it passed in several hours Congratulations on your new start , You will rock that weight loss, Best wishes RJ

  5. hello all. well i was discharge last night. feel awesome very little pain for the whole time. lost 30 LBS during the liquid diet phase. set a new record per my surgical team. HW. 475. SW 450. CW 386 Best decision i have made. best surgical team. will post more later.. RJ

Well its gonna finally happen in under 12 hours. tomorrow at 6:00am i will be admitted and what i have worked so hard for over the past 9 months will finally happen. bag fully packed, hydrated and ready to get it on! i will no longer be ' pre-op' ........i will post in a couple of days my experience.. peace out RJ

Thank you all for your helpful answers. i am not that keen on taking medication. i envisioned them handing me 30 scripts and it costing me a thousands of dollars. im ok with taking my Vitamin supplements for the rest of my life. and some pain management pills or liquid for several days. i also just want some frickin semi solid food! there are just so many things to keep track of....geeezz have a great weekend RJ

I am having my surgery June 12th. trying to get a rough idea on what are the medications i may possibly be being perscribed upon my release from the hospital ( i know everyone is diffrent and i am NOT!!! seaking medical advice). I am actually in very good health except for the weight issue. i take no medications currently....good genes i guess? ......any feedback would be helpful

  15. Thanls for the feedback. never cosidered the soup in a blender optopn, that i could live off of. a friend who is 2 years post-op told me low fat egg salad in the blender.

I am one week away from surgery . i have my protien powder,vitamins, jello,sugarfee popcicles, broth...for the full liquid phase. i am a little concerned about the pureed phase. i have my greek yougurt, hummus. someone suggested possibly adding baby food for this phase. if so any recommendations ?? or are they full of it , looking for input
  17. I am set for June 12th....very excited about it. This morning i crushed my distance and speed record for walking....wooo hoooo! if this how i feel now i cant imagine how i will feel this time next year . but i am sure it will be " off the hook"....best of luck too you on your surgery date. god bless RJ

  19. I am open about the whole subject of the upcomming surgery. my family friends and co-workers have been more than supportive. i have actually gained quite the fan club. ( not that it was my intention to have one :-) by being open and discussing my journey i have found out that 5 people who i know have had some form of weight loss surgery. And have been greatly sucessful. i have been given gifts ( books to read in the hospital) people are giving me clothes of the smaller sizes i will be passing through. i have not had one negative experience. my feeling is the more support you habe the better the results will be. cheers RJ
  20. I received approval in 7 days and they set the date on the same phone call. it took all of 10 minutes.
  21. I will not miss, 1. The pizza delivery guys judgemental looks. 2. Being called "Big Guy" 3. Being afraid i will kill lawn furniture. 4. Purchasing two seats on a plane 5. Requiring 2 seats on the trolley. ( well actually 1-1/4) 6. Large grocery bills 7. Taking what i can get at the big & tall stores. 8. Shopping at big & tall stores 9. McDonalds & similar stores 10. Sweating in the middle of winter 11. Not being able to walk more than fifty yards at a time. 12. Feeling ashamed when i eat out. there are many more but that is behind me! my future course is charted and the next phase of my life begins with my surgery on June 12, 2013. Thanks for posting this thread. its amazing how many items i could empathise with. but alas i bid farwell to the " big guy" and say hello to life! cheers! RJ
