Just be a bit more patient, I too was worried that I hadn't lost any weight in the first week, but i needed to remember the huge amount of fluids that i was given in the Hospital. My Dr. told me not to expect any big weight loss for about 2 months. I wore a size 16 or 18 (depending on how tight they were) on the day of surgery 15 weeks later I'm wearing a size 8 skinny jean. Keep faith, it will come off.

My surgery was 9-23-13, I've lost approximately 50lbs now, just a little over 50% of what I need to lose. My Dr. said I'm ahead of my expected weight loss, so I'm gonna keep doing what I've been doing.

Had my first post-op apt with my surgeon yesterday. I'm exactly 3 months post and I've already lost 42% of my excess weight. He said I'm doing awesome. LOL I thought I was doing crappy. I set a lower goal then my Dr. so we'll see how long it takes.

Good luck with your appt. I to have BSBC,all of my Dr visits, surgery and OR fees were paid except for a Co.pay of $1500.00 which was due to the fact i had not yet met my out of pocket expenses. But i really can't complain considering what it would cost with out insurance. My BMI was a bit below 39 the day of surgery, but i also have Severe Obstructive sleep Apnea which insurance companies only require a BMI of 35 or more to be approved for surgery.

I had 1c lettuce, 1.5oz of steak, 1 tbl sharp cheddar and a bit of dressing. First time I ate all of it.

I'm just 3 months post, and I seem to tolerate lettuce, olives, shredded carrots and beets with a bit of country French dressing very well. Although it is a very small salad, maybe 1c total. Do you have a cheese Cake factory near you? They have a wonderful goat cheese and beet salad appetizer that you can get 2 meals out of for $6.00.

Thank you everyone, I can't wait to get weighed on the 20th. I haven't gotten on the scale in over a month.

I'm 12 weeks post. I've been struggling with the thought that my weight loss will stop and i'll never get to the weight i want. But every once in awhile i notice something, like your pants legs getting a bit loser, not popping any buttons on my shirt. Well i had to share my eye opening experience this morning that made me feel so wonderful about my new journey. It's funny, but i was taking a shower letting the hot Water hit my back, i felt like something was out of place and i just couldnt figure it out. So i stood there staring at the wall and realized that my elbows were touching my side. I can't remember when the last time i was able to do that. I finally lost enough weight from my arms that they can lay flat against my body. Like i said it's the Little Things that help me thru this.

Good luck with your surgery. I see my surgeon on the 20th for the first time since surgery. I haven't gotten on a scale in 4 weeks, I can't wait to see what I've lost.

I would very much like to compare progress and set backs with the other people who had September surgeries.
The past week i've been having a few issues with constantly being nauseated. I still don't eat very much, maybe half an egg on half peice of toast for Breakfast, maybe a 1/4 c of spag squash with turkey for lunch and dinner. Well let me know if anyone else has similar issues and any suggestions would be great.

I recently purchased a pk of Kay's Naturals Protein chips (Crispy Parmesan) which have 12gms of protein/1.2oz. Pretty good. They havent bothered me.

I had the same kind of bump(left side below belly button and very tender), my Dr checked it and said to watch it for another week or so to make sure it didn't get any bigger. It was gone about 1 week later. I would still let your Dr. know that you have this bump, maybe they will want to see you.

Maybe you can give me some advice. I'm 5 weeks post, I've been able to eat about 2 tbl of oatmeal for breakfast, 1/2 c Soup for lunch(broth or creamed) and maybe a whole scramble egg (but the whole egg is pushing it). I'm having lots of issues getting in any more food. A Protein Shake would take me all day to drink. I tried Isopure which is awful, I still can't drink plain Water, I tried apple juice and water, it took me 8 hrs to drink 20oz. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HI Everyone My surgery was Sept 23rd, I was wondering if anyone else has started to feel hungry? Today I've been wanting to eat salty foods, almost craving them. I wasn't sure if this is normal or maybe it's just my head telling me I should be eating.

Four days into the liquid pre-op diet' date=' it's going pretty good! Enjoying an Isopure Protein Drink now so I know if I will like it after surgery. It's pretty good, I know they say your tastes change after surgery but if I know I like it before then I'm not as worried about lack of choice afterwords. Surgery still set for Sept 3rd, anyone else on liquids yet?[/quote']I'm glad you said it was good I was hoping it would be good I bought a few bottles for after my surgery

Just got weighed today, another 8 lbs gone, 40 more to go.
I'm 18 weeks post, i know we shouldn't "compare" weight loss, but i was hoping to have lost more. I'm kind of feeling down atm, i've been watching what i eat very closely. My husband and i go to the gym 5 days/week. The first 50lbs came off rather quickly. Is it normal to slow down this much?
