  1. Because I had PE in December, my surgeon had an IVC Filter placed in my vena cava (main vein) to avoid the risk of blood clots breaking off to your heart or lungs, I will also be on Lovanox injections for 30 days as a precautionary (my surgery is June 10th). If you ever had a history of blood clots you should have been treated for that before surgery. If not, why weren't you on injections for a few weeks after surgery, they work faster than the pill. Did they do a Doppler on both legs before surgery, or X-ray? If not, this would have prevented the PE. I hope you feel better.
  2. You looking pretty...keep up the good work.
  3. Wow, that's the way I felt all day today, my friends asked me how was I feeling and I said "calm, I feel peace"...that was very nice post..I pray you have an easy recovery, Amen.
  4. That's good to know, I'm scared of the unknown....
  5. Well after you lose weight, you will definitely be able to have a baby, everybody I know who had WLS, got pregnant within the first 6 month of recovery, it amazes me...but girl I don't want no more kids, I'm 42 will be 43 this summer, I have 4 step kids and 1 biological, I bet two years in you will be telling me "I pregnant" you just wait and see, you still young, at baby making stage. Lol
  6. Well my surgery is Monday, the hospital will call me today to give me a time, I don't know what to feel. Im excited and can't wait to go through the recovery, I feel like I've gone through recovery from reading everyone story...Well in awhile I'll have my own story. Today will be my last day of work, so I don't have to worry about that. Be Blessed,
  7. Good luck, you will be fine, at this point it a mental thing.
  8. Vitav04, do you have a family? I will be celebrating One Year wedding anniversary June 29th, my husband is trying his best to be supportive, he's one of those people that believe if you take daily vitamins and juice you can lose weight. But he's the reason I picked up so much weight, he loooves to eat, I don't know how I'm making my pre op diet, the way he eats, lol. I also have a 24 year old wonderful and supportive daughter, along with my parents. I love my family.
  9. I know right, are you nervous or anxious? I don't know what my feelings are, at first I was excited, nervous, and scared. Now I have no feelings, I guess it's normal, especially when you are preparing yourself mentally.
  10. Ok that would be great, yes, I need a friend to go through this with, the IVC doesn't hurt at all, they went through my neck, I was so worried, the gave me something but I was still awake during the procedure, and it only took a little while. You'll be fine.
  11. Thanks, today was the 4th day of my high protein shake diet, however, because of the spasms, it's my potassium, my counselor told me to hold off on the shakes and eat deli meat and white chicken. I hope this doesn't interfere with my surgery...
  12. While on liquid diet did you experience muscle spasms?
  13. Yes, praise God, I pray that you continue to have a painless, complication free recovery. You should be proud, you did it, your on the losers side.
  14. Im on day 2 of my pre-op all liquid diet, Im not hungry, however, I feel like I need to burp, pass gas, and have a BM, this is all the time even before I started my diet. So I don't know what's making it worse, the protein shakes or the IVC Filter that was placed in my stomach yesterday, my stomach is starting to have spasms.
  15. Awww, that is terrible, I feel for you and pray for you, that there are no complications and that no matter what happens, you are covered financially.
  16. Hi, I'm June 10th as well, you will be my Journey Buddy....now I don't feel all alone, I was the only June 10th person, LOL...welcome to the group, like yourself, I've also done research after research and trying to mentally prepare myself. Well, today is the first day of my all liquid diet and I feel for those who had to do it for two and three weeks, I hope I get the hang of it, becasue I do understand that we will be on liquid diet for a minute after surgery.
  17. Good Morning All, Im at the hospital waiting to receive my IVC Filter..1 week to go.
