My first surgeon offered it for the pre-op diet. It tried to take it, but I couldn't do it. I wasn't able to concentrate, because of the jitters it gave me.

I had surgery on Sept 16th, so I am 6 1/2-weeks post op. I am doing really well.
I have lost 36-pounds as of today (10/30) and I have been eating basically anything other than Pasta, fresh veggies or dry white meat chicken.
I use My Fitness Pal to track everything I eat. I have my diary set for 1,000-calories a day.

I am not sure how accurate this information is but I was having the same issue and anther person on this forum told me I was experiencing something called Ketosis. This is when your body is burning 100% fat to fuel your body during this time. Apparently it is really a good thing because you are losing weight/fat.
I pre-cursor this information with the advice to always talk to your nutritionist, but this is what I was told. It only latest 2/3-days for me and tomorrow, 10/28th I will be 6-weeks post-op.
Hope it helps.

I ordered Wellesse liquid vitamins online prior to surgery so that I would be prepared and I wanted to puke every time I had to take my Vitamins. I regretted purchasing the liquid form and I couldn't wait to run out so I could switch.

Have been unable to find a juice that doesn't have a ton of sugar in it. I have tried Cran-Grape and it is good, but I wanted to see if anyone else was able to find a juice that was acceptable??
I believe that in order to keep this RNY successful you need to keep things changing so that you don't burn out and revert to old habits and bad choices. Thanks.

5-weeks post-op today. I feel the best I have felt so far. I went to an extravagant wild game dinner tonight that had soooo much food it was unreal. The tickets were $175/each and I didn't eat my monies worth <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />) I was so proud of my self control and no desire for the Desserts that took up 4-huge rooms. 32-pounds down and it felt awesome to have actual "choices" when deciding what to wear to the event. Yippee!!!! -

That is wonderful that you have such a great relationship with your surgeon as it should be. Can you already tell the difference from when you had the lapland to the RNY?The feeling of the pressure you receive from the Lapband is gone. The RNY is more of a feeling of being full, not that stuck feeling. It is difficult to explain.

San Antonio, Texas. Surgery 09-16-13 with Dr. Pilcher, love him as my surgeon. Lapband removal to RNY, 5-weeks out and feeling good.

I had an open surgery sept. 4 th and was back to work on sept 19 th two weeks after surgery with staples still in my stomach. I did not lift' date=' I am a manager, did not work more than six hours the first few days back to work, was tired when I got home and took a nap. It can be done, but be careful, doctors have been known to change the date! I went back to work so that I could go to a conference the following week. Good luck I am using a Water bottle brand name Contigo that has a straw - liquid stays in the straw so no bubbles - helps me get in all my Water. Surgery date 9/4/2013 HW 259 RYN 238, this week 209[/quote']Okay, I am on Amazon right now looking for this Contigo bottle. I love drinking from a straw, so this would be amazing!!!!!

The back pain is finally subsiding. I am 4-weeks and 3-days post op. Still have a bit of a twinge, but at least it is getting tolerable.

How far along are you? When can we eat chef-boyar-dee? He is my favorite chef.I am not sure if I am "suppose" to eat ravioli's. In fact I know that I am not, because of the noodle portion. In fact today was the first time to eat this. I am almost 5-weeks post op and I have had Zero complications. So, I take all of those things into consideration. I get 70-oz of Water each day and also drink Protein Shakes without issue.
However, I mush them with a fork and they give me Protein. It is quick and easy as well.

I have a structure &on fluids until next Friday when I go back into the hospital for repair/fixing.ita a lesson learned to never get DEHYDRATED' date=' that's the most common reason for strictures .lack of Fluid .[/quote']Doctors should tell people that about strictures. I was not aware that dehydration was one of the main causes.
Thank you for sharing.

1/2-can of Chef-boyar-dee ravioli, probably not the best decision, but it was soft and my pouch had a rough day.

I had my surgery Sept 26. Was doing well until recently. I feel weak and tired. Any one else feeling thatI had surgery Sept 16th, and this last week has been brutal with being tired and having ZERO energy. I have napped almost everyday and my husband is making fun of me. I do not like to sleep, I feel like sleep is a waste of time, so for me to nap is completely irregular.
So, today I stayed awake all day and made sure I took in 70-grams of Protein and 64-oz of Water, but don't really feel any different.
I have not started exercising though since surgery. I have a terrible back-ache and it hurts to much to exercise. I have never had back problems, so I am unsure what this is all about.
Tomorrow, I am 4-weeks Post op and I don't want to stall, so hopefully this will pass.
-
I want to follow this message, because I am having some of the same concerns with energy level.
I have a terrible pain in my left back for 2-weeks now. It feels like a back-ache and it is super annoying. On Monday I will be 4-weeks post-op, from a Lap-band to RNY revision on Sept 16, 2013.
-
I had surgery in 09/16th, so 3-weeks and 2-days ago and I had a lap-band removal and revision to RNY. My doctor has me progressing with food such as crumbled hamburger meat with cheese.
Hopefully, you can have that soon. I am drinking plenty of fluids everyday and taking the Vitamins as directed. It gets better.

Plastic surgery is your personal choice. I am sorry you have so many things going on in your life right now.
I hope things turn around for you and your kiddos.

Surgery 09/16/13, I am doing good.
Surgery weight 270 and currently this morning 252.5. Yippee!!!!!
I haven't found anything that hasn't agreed with me. The last 2/3-days I have been able to finally recognize the "full" feeling and now I believe that the surgeon really did make me a small pouch. LOL. It is funny how your mind messes with you in the beginning of the recovery.
I have had no problem getting in my fluids each day. I am still suffering from a horrible back-ache, which is strange since I have never had any back problems. This is limiting my physical activity.

I'm 3 weeks out' date=' I've had three injections and have to go to the chiropractor twice a week, plus on Monday I start physical therapy again.[/quote']Also, when did your back ache start??
-
Oh no. I hope that doesn't happen to me. Did you have back issues prior to surgery? I never had back problems, so this is completely out of the norm for me.
-
Haven't had much exercise' date=' because I have sever back pain. That's gotten worse since surgery. Hoping that starting pt and chiropractor will help. Keeping a positive attitude[/quote']Have far post op are you? I have a severe back ache as well and I am 18-days post op. The doctor said it might be the way I was positioned on the operating table. However, it doesn't explain why the pain has been so bad 10-days after my actual surgery.

Pre op Phentermine
in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Posted
Yes Phentermine is one of the two pills from the Phen-fen diet. It gives me jitters and it gives my sister heart palpitations. I work and go to school so I needed to read and study, with this pill I wasn't able to do it. It gives you a lot of energy, but it wasn't energy I could harness into anything productive.
