  1. I've noticed some of the other forums are quite "salty" lol....
  2. Getting over cheese...been over chicken for awhile...dinner is not so bad, but lunch ideas would be good. I like salads, but not a lot of protein in there. I've noticed most frozen dinners have pasta...can't do pasta.
  3. Prayers and hugs...wish the dr. had more definitive news. We're thinking about you!
  4. I'd love a crockpot recipe for bean soup...anyone?
  5. That's going to be a big change, for sure...I stay here mainly because my family is here..I'd miss my kids, and Junior year in high school would be a hard time to move my baby...If it's in God's plan, we'll move someday.
  6. I'm in oconomowoc...not too far from you..when you're feeling up to it, let's get together, maybe with others from the area. How are you feeling today, Dori? Was the dr. able to tell you anything? By the way, are you FREEZING this year like I am? I'm losing my insulation!
  7. Best if luck on your surgery...you got thus!
  8. I'm on quite few tutor lists...nothing so far, but you never know! I'd love to tutor your little guy, especially if it meant living in Fla! You guys are moving to Denver, right? Glad your house sold.. Sorry you have to move twice....but Colorado us so beautiful. Have you lived in Fla. long?
  9. My degree us in education, with an emphasis on gifted education. I left the workforce in 2000 after a heart surgery damaged nerves in my back, side, and chest. I was left with chronic regional pain syndrome. You're right, I do need more purpose in my life. I do alot of volunteer work with my therapy dog Jed... He's great. I just have it stuck in my mind that if I'm not working, I'm not contributing...need a mind shift. I've had clinical depression for years, it just gets worse in winter....just a bad stretch of time. I've had some weird health problems this year, and it really cut into my exercise....doesn't help either. I will reconnect with my therapist this week, and get to the dog park with my baby...thanks for the support, you guys...just feeling down. I'm in Oconomowoc, by the way. Weather us supposed to be better today.
  10. So I'm really depressed lately...it's autumn, and I struggle in autumn. Broke, in debt, and feeling hopeless....it's like I have no ambition for much, and I keep getting weird ailments that keep me more disabled and unable to work..I have a Masters degree I'm not even using...just feeling arrgh!
  11. I'm sorry you're having a hard time , Dori. Keep us posted about your progress.
  12. I'm sorry you're having a hard time , Dori. Keep us posted about your progress.
  13. Sure hope they figure out the leg pain. I hope you continue to heal quickly.
  14. We April ladies rock! I think I'll make a big pot of pea soup. And some chili, and eat off of those for awhile. It's getting crappy here( Wisconsin) and I'm soo fricken cold. I definitely need a change of scenery, like a permanent move to San Diego. Where are you moving?
  15. So how is everybodys weight loss going? I'm down to 189, from a hw of 297... Things are definitely slowing down. But I'm in a 14, down from a 22. . My dr thought I'd probably reach a gw of 185 after about a year...think I'll make that! I am getting so tired if cheese sticks and nuts. Lol...need lunch suggestions. I can't do bread, and I'm not really an egg without toast girl. Just getting food bored, i guess. No cravings, except for rice. Just bored.
  16. I hope you continue to get better day by day, Dori. I think this site switch and our busy lives have kept us all off the site for awhile. I ,too had surgery recently, just a little one compared to Dori's, and I've started training for a new job, so that's why I've been a little more inactive...
  17. I'm six months out, and still can only drink about six oz comfortably if I drink quickly. I was a chugger, too, but quickly found out that was impossible. I get the " that's enough" feeling pretty quickly.
  18. Good to hear from you, Dori...glad you're feeling better thus am, and that your fever broke...now remind me, did you have a spinal fusion? I really hope this does the trick for you. We all should have at least manageable pain.
  19. Just saw my driver's liscence photo....wow looks like a stranger, and I wasn't even my heaviest.
  20. I would never reach my protein goal without shakes...I use unflavored and drink it in vitamin water from Costco....water , vitamins, and protein....can't lose. Just remember we can only take in 49/45g. Of protein at a time; anymore isn't absorbed.
  21. I am happy that the major bugs seem to be over...I see more posts everyday....glad to hear from all of you!
  22. Welcome to the loser's bench....i was in pain pretty constantly at first, forced myself to walk. Slept in a recliner, and it helped. Just be careful with pain meds that have Tylenol....too much Tylenol can cause liver damage.
