Mel3620 I've been doing the same thing!!! Lol. I've cleaned my house top to bottom, cleaned my car which hasn't been done in like a year. I went "food" shopping for all my protein shakes and things I will need right after. I feel like I'm nesting too. Wednesday is coming quick!!!

Terry1118 I'm having my surgery done at Toby next week and I'm SUPER nervous. It's good to know that everything went well tho. Who is your surgeon? Hope you feel better!!!

We've been friends for about 16 years and she knows about my plan to have this surgery. She is supportive of my decision and even wishes that we could do it together. However, whenever I'm around her I start having second thoughts and develop a really pessimistic attitude. It's the strangest thing. I hung out with her over the holiday and the next day I was second guessing myself and questioning my decision. I don't know if its because I see that her lifestyle isn't going to change and mine is (which will be really tough). She does tend to undermine my surgeons directions (he says I can't drink for a year, she says ill be fine in six months). I do intend to follow my doctors advice over hers. I'm also kind of happy that she's not doing this journey with me because in the past some things tend to become a competition. Can anyone help me with this or have a similar friend? I know I'm doing the right thing for myself but how am I going to hang out with her if the result is undermining my achievement. Any advice? Ahhhh that was a good rant

Thank you all for your advice!!! I guess I'm just nervous about the change that this surgery will bring. She has been my friend for half my life and we have literally done everything together (high school, college, vacations). I'm really hoping that our relationship doesn't change but if she's not willing to change a little as well, I'll have to continue on this journey without her. I guess it's wait and see. Sparklette - I could have written your post, only me and my friend were at the clam shack. Lol

Add me to the list!! June 5!! And I'm kinda freaking out. Not so much about the afterwards but more about the surgery itself. I handle pain really well, I'm just nervous something might happen during it. Yikes!!!

I too have been on a diet and exercise plan since my first nut appt in early April. I have lost just over 20lbs since and religiously use my fitness pal and exercise everyday. However, I do plan on having a "last meal" before my surgery on June 5 (woot, woot!!) I also plan on compensating for my meal in my diet. I think that allowing yourself one last indulgence is completely fine and totally normal. I have failed previously on diets by denying myself things that I want and need to change that behavior. After surgery I just plan on reworking the foods that I want into healthier choices.
