  1. My dad was very nervous about me having the surgery. Today he was having a senior moment calling for me in the other room and couldn't remember my name at first...and called me skinny Minnie instead... Made me smile.

    Wondering about Restaurants

I am 3 months out and have been out to eat numerous times. At first I tried ordering my own food, but I can't do leftovers since surgery so I just mooch off everyone's plate. I only eat about 4 bites of food at any meal, so it isn't worth ordering my own food.
  3. Started my journey 3 months ago and today put on a pair of size 16 shorts. Started at solid 24!
  4. That is so great. That is my goal! I am past morbidly obese in the middle of just obese.
  5. I am afraid I am on the same boat. But I bought my first Victoria Secret bra. I was a 48DD and am now a 40D. They have awesome bras! I went back and got 5 more. And new undies!!!

    If One More Person!

I also think people get jealous. I know some of my family don't want me to be skinny because they aren't. I guess they feel misery loves company.

    MEN! GRRRRR (Sorry men)

My husband and I have been married for 17 years. We married at age 26, and he had lived in his own for 8 years. We both work full time. When we first got married I did everything. But then his job was cut and he spent the next three years on and off work. During the time he wasn't working he did everything. Now, jobs are stable. But I still do all the cooking and he cleans up after. He does the laundry and we hired a cleaning person so we don't have to do that in the little spare time we have. Works perfectly. He is my biggest supporter. He now calls me skinny Minnie. He makes me feel beautiful every day.

    If One More Person!

I just read all through this post. I only told my parents, husband and sisters about the surgery. Now I tell everyone because I am so proud of what I accomplished. But this past week I was in Florida. My sister has last 20 pounds dieting after I had my surgery (everything is a competition to her...). But my "Barbie" cousin was asking me about my surgery and then turned to my sister and said, so are you losing weight...the hard way? My sister said, "Trust me, if you think what she is going through everyday isn't hard, you have no idea". I know my cousin didn't mean to upset me, but I can't seem to get past it! This is so much harder than dieting.... But I am so glad I did this...for me! HW: 317 SW: 296 CW: 236 GW: 170

It is so strange to read everyone's progress. As I read these I keep thinking, man they are doing great....wish I was doing that great. Then I do the math and say.. Wait a minute, I am doing that good! Surgery was 5/28. Starting weight was 296 (5/2/13). Surgery weight was 284. Today I weighed 230! 66 pounds down! Woohoo! Bought some size 16 jeans this weekend....almost in them! Maybe a few more weeks! So glad I made this decision! Saw some relatives this past week in Florida. They didn't know and when they saw me, my aunt starting crying. They are so happy for me. She said I inspire them daily now. That is a good feeling! HW: 317 SW: 296 CW: 236 GW: 170
  15. Cleaned out my closet. 8 full size garbage bags to my sister and mom. 3 more to go to goodwill. My husband laughed and said no more hunting for hangers! More to go in about a month!

I can't seem to get more than 400-500 calories a day with about 30 grams if protein. Walking 2 miles daily and sometimes my calories are negative with the exercise. A slice of cheese is about all I can do at a sitting. I tried nuts but they don't agree with me. No shakes either. Nauseous at the thought of one. But I hit 60 pounds so I am happy down from solid size 24 to 18. Haven't weighed this weight in last 20 years. Feeling good!

I have had the foamies 3x. Twice from eating too fast, once from not chewing enough. But could be from grease. Have to completely avoid fried foods. Boy would I like some Chinese food though!

Hi all. Just checking in. Surgery 5/28, down 55 pounds. I am in a stall right now for a week. Scale hasn't oven even an ounce. I little discouraging. It is weird how one day you can eat semi normally, and then the next day basically nothing. Yesterday I had a small piece of cheese, maybe an ounce, and 3 tiny bites of a hamburger and that is all I could do...all day! I know the stall is because I am not eating enough, but I eat as much as I can...which is still a few bites per meal. Is anyone else having a hard time eating enough. Any tricks to get more calories/protein in? Besides shakes or protein bars?
  21. I am 8 weeks post op. I have long hair and am trying to prepare to lose some of it. I haven't had short hair since the 3rd grade and never would have considered it pre surgery due to the round face, double chins, etc. today I got my hair cut short! It is so totally different and I love it! My mom said I am looking like a new person!

Hi everyone. I have had a spell of vomiting lately. My stomach hurts and then I vomit. I am either eating too much or not chewing my food enough. Is it normal to vomit during the first few months. I am trying to figure it out, but I am a little worried about the vomiting.
