  1. I had RNY on June 3' date=' and am 10 days post op. I gad a rough time of it but am feeling stronger daily. As I type this, I'm sitting here after midnight unable to sleep. My legs are so restless I have to move them constantly or go nuts. I'm not even tired after Tylenol PM. I never has restless legs before but my mom does. Have any of you connected WLS with restless legs syndrome?[/quote']

I have the same problem and cannot sleep until the sun comes up and only for a few hours. I thought it was just the meds finallu wearing off

  2. I had bypass Monday. Had to be there at 715, went for surgery at 1120. Slept good and didn't feel a thing until...I woke up and my pain pump was still sitting in a chair. I spent all night awake to make sure I could push button every 10 minutes. It was terrible and even though I told everyone this wasn't right, my blood pressure was through the roof and I was sweating like crazy, it took until 9 the next morning to get some pain medicine because the after surgery nurse let my anesethia wear off before getting me on pump. Nightmare. Now I'm home day two and have no pain but nausea is keeping me down.

  3. Well' date=' I've unintentionally sabotaged my pre op diet. I wasn't paying attention to my Protein shakes...between the powders and the soy milk, I've been going well over my carb target, usually before dinner. :-( And my usual mindset tried to kick in, which said "oh well, may as well eat whatever you want to now since you've screwed up." But I know that tomorrow is a new day, and I'm going to get it right. I'll just be sooooo glad when I don't feel hungry...that's the benefit of RNY that really sold me. But for the next 11 days, I'll be meal planning...I always do better when I plan ahead and stop trying to wing it. I do feel a but less worried about these first messed up days of my diet since some surgeons say no diet, some say liquid. I guess it's not the end of the world because these have been successful surgeries on either end of the spectrum. Sorry for rambling...just trying to make myself feel better. :-/[/quote']

I'm no doctor but I'm sure they give extra days so everyone can work a little less in the beginning. I wasn't put on restriction but what scared me from overeatting was the doctor telling me he will do lap but if my liver is too large, he will have to do it the vertical cut. You sound like you got your head in the game now and will be fine.
