    Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

    Starting week 2 tomorrow, cant wait. I have two weeks before my cruise, hope to lose about 8 pounds by then! With stict diet and running, I know I can do it. I will work out every day. Jogging every other and then either elliptical or biking in between. Also, weight training 2 - 3 times per week. Wish me luck!

    Finished week 1 today! I actually jogged 2 minutes and walked 2 minutes for 25 minutes. Week one really called for 60 seconds of jogging and 1.5 min. of walking. Yay, cant wait for week 2.

    This is a much better day! Guess what? You all would be so proud!!! I have learned new ways to torture my Kindergarteners. Yay me. Actually, I have learned that time out is just not working, these kids just dont care, so today, I started making them write sentences! Yes, sentences. They hate it, they have to write I will follow class rules on the front and back of the paper. Sounds cruel, right? But there are only 6 lines on each side, so there. Also, and this nearly started a riot, but they all decided to start talking during writing today. All except 3 students were just chit chatting away, so I pulled out the ole prize box and gave the three a a chance to pick out anything they wanted. Yes folks, the rest of the class nearly pitched a fit. Yes, it is good to torture children sometimes. But my problem is this, a 10 - 15 minute lesson will take over 30 minutes sometimes because these children will NOT stop talking or getting out of their seats, or talking, or talking - and it is a chain reaction thing, one will say something that is totally not about the lesson, then all 15 start talking...I kid you not. Anyway, just wanted to say that today is better than yesterday, no one is dead, and I am in a better frame of mind. Back to my lean cuisine....

    Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

    Hi wombat, I am not an expert, today is workout 3 of week 1!!! However, I have been reading as much as possible about running and have read that sometimes, it is just harder than others...not reason for it, we just have a hard time running. Since you are all the way to week 6, I know you arent giving it up, just wanted to say hey, crap happens! Aren't I a little ray of sunshine? You are way passed me in the running program, your weight loss is awesome and I guess we just have to go over some roadblocks once in a while. Take care.

    I think that people who complain about pictures being posted are just jealous. We are all different and have different levels of motivation. Some people are basically miserable people and will never be happy. I say ignore negative comments and post all the hot pictures you want. We can choose ourselves whether or not to look. I for one love to see the pictures of people who have succeeded, even if my bod doesnt end up being perfect like someone elses, it is inspirational to view others' successes. My opinion.

    Hi all, just needed to vent. I have had one heck of a morning, I am surprised you havent heard any reports on the news about me losing it! Started out with horrible stomach ache because I went nuts and ate chocolate ice cream last night - made me sick as a dog. Then my boys argued all morning, which drives me insane, I got halfway to work and had to turn around because I forgot to give my son his medication, then while taking it, he spilled water all over his pants and flipped out! Then, I got to work (I teach kindergarten) I was late, and couldnt find my keys! God help me. Then, my students decided to start wrestling in the halls. Now, they are acting like they are demon possessed and not following any classroom rules and just going haywire. Oh yes, I had to stop and get coffee at the Woodalls, ended up spilling hot coffee all over my hand, said a not so good word, then looked up and say one of my fellow church members! I need a drink, and I dont even drink! I need a cigarrette, and dont smoke. I NEED A VICE - Because I refuse to overeat because of this. I plan to work out like a fiend today. Please forgive this post, but I needed to get this out.

    Thanks all. I sure hope that I drop lots of weight when I get off and running. I have some pain in my foot, just hope it gets easier with more weight loss. How has everyone's weight loss gone since starting this program?

    Has anyone taken up Bycyling?

    I have been riding with my 9 year old son. We do 4 miles around the neighborhood. He is a football player, a little chunky, and wants to slim down a little and get faster. I feel proud that he is interested in getting fit.

    Hey all, I know I am way behind you all, but I just did day two of week one! It was not too bad, I was able to complete it and not pass out! Had to have 32 oz of water when i returned home. Wish I could go to the above talked about party in Dallas! I used to live in Sherman, Tx, worked for TI. Now I am in Georgia.

  16. Hi, I tried to load some pics yesterday, but for some reason, my computer went offline. This happened to me the day before when I was loading pictures for ebay... I may just email them to one of you and see if you can post them for me. I am currently 210 pounds, having started at 265. I started out in size 20/22, (20's being tight and 22's fitting, but you know how we are sometimes!) and now I can wear my 16 jeans!!! YAY. It has been a while. I still have a long way to go, but I am working on it. Joined Tony's Gym. Does anyone on here go there? We could get together sometime if you want. I promise, I am not a stalker - I am way too lazy to be one. Take care. Dana

    Couch to 5K Anyone want to start with me ?

    Hi all, I wanted to start with y'all but wimped out after the first workout. I am the one with the bad foot, lots of scar tissue, from surgery. Well, I have been working out on the elliptical and weights and all and the last couple of days, walking with my son. I decided to again try the first workout today. I actually walked first for 10 minutes, then jogged 60 seconds at the top of every 5 min. increment. I worked out for a total of an hour. My son couldnt hang, so i would run ahead of him and then behind him and back up to him! (he is only 9) Anyway, I decided I would have to suck it up and do it. I am not in pain like I was before. I know that having less weight on it helps. ALso, i purchased new running shoes and ran outside today. I look forward to doing a 5k! Also, I actually could have gone over 60 sec. but I didnt want to push it. See you at the finish line!!!
  21. So, I am going on a cruise March 22, and I am so excited. My question is this, I am currently at 8cc's and at good restriction. This is what I have been looking for all my life! Ha At the clinic where I receive my fills, it was suggested to get an unfil before the cruise, and then a fill when I come back. The reason being, I dont want to be in the middle of the ocean, or in another country, and get something stuck. I totally understand this. Additionally, I would like to enjoy eating yummy steak and lobster while I am there. So, we scheduled an unfil for March 19th. My thing is this, I am not able to get in for a fill until April 14th!!! Almost a month with minimal to no restriction! I am soooooooo scared. My head knows that the unfil is the right thing, I certainly dont want an emergency situation while on the cruise, but I have this irrational fear that I will gain ALL FIFTY POUNDS BACK!!! I would just like to hear everyone's opinion. What do you think? P.S. Be honest, would you want to go on a cruise and have a difficult time eating? BTW, I will be unfilled to 5cc's, not to Zero.

    Tell me your opinion...

    After the first couple of responses, I felt a little snippy- feeling a bit judged and all. However, being that I am a grown up, I chose to wait a few days and really think on the subject and I realize that you all are here to support me and offer advice that you would want to be given, had you asked the same question. Ive come to the conclusion that I will not get the unfil. Everyone here had valid comments and did a great job influencing me, and I also realized that I have only PB'd maybe 3 times in 5 months, and have never gotten stuck. I am pretty good at judging what I should eat, how much and how slowly. I appreciate everyone's comments here and know that your intent is for my benefit, not to judge me or look down upon me in disdain. I still have "fat girl" syndrome sometimes, (at least that is what i call it) where I feel self conscious and looked down upon for being overweight, or not good enough. Thank you for your opinions and comments. It has led me to the right desicion.
  23. amc, that is a cute little poem up there. I do not smoke pot, merely for the reason that i pretty much lose all motivation to get things done. Plus, it is illegal. I do not drink or take valium either. I guess my release is my cursing like a sailor on a regular basis. I am not trying to judge here...but it is spelled rhetoric, not reteric. Have a great day!

    Brina and Allykat, Congrats on your banding! The appitite does come back with a vengence at times, doesnt it? I was banded on Oct. 11th and still fight with appitite. As overweight people, it is something we will learn to deal with. I will say, pre-band, I had a huge appitite, I could eat an entire large pizza by myself! Now, even with minimum restriction, I may be able to eat 2 slices, however, it has been a long while since I ate pizza, at least one fill ago. I can't wait for all of us to get together for a meeting. Will be nice to meet other bandits. I live in Albany, off of Philema Road. Next month we are going on a cruise for Spring Break, that would be the only reason for missing the meeting. Take care.
  25. Wow, 12cc's seems like a lot, but what do I know? Haha The 8 I have in there now seems to be pretty good, but I have my days!
