    Speed Eater!!!

I have always been a fast eater. My reason is that if my food is hot, I cant stand to eat it if it gets cold, and vice versa with cold food. This has been a very big struggle for me too. What I do is try to put my fork down between bites, and of course, all the tricks you all are using helps. Talking, getting online, etc. are all good ways to slow it down.

    Let's be honest....please!

Thank you for your story. I know how it feels too. I will eat if I can get it down. The feeling of fullness that we are supposed to feel isnt the same as without the band. Before, feeling full was in the belly area. But now it is in the throat area. Does that make sense? I have started my journey over with a nice fill yesterday and am ready to get to losing. Please dont give us.
  4. You are amazing. Thank you for telling your story.
  5. Toto, You can try having soup, an appitizer, a regular meal, and only eat half. It is best to eat protein, such as chicken, steak or fish, and veggies. I am a big salad eater.
  6. I am going to try to be very disciplined and post every day. Yesterday I had a fill and had all fluids: Coffee Protein Shake with strawberries blended in Protein soup Protein Shake Coffee Soup 2 Margaritas!!! I know, but I still had a one pound weight loss this morning. So far today I have had a shake, soup, and about 1/2 c. chili. Lots of water. I will post today's entire menu later. Thanks
  7. I would like to get this out as well. I think I have had a hard time letting go of some of the foods I eat. I never considered the emotional implications of lapband. I think those of you preparing for your lapband surgery should really take some time to consider how you may feel about letting go of some of the foods you eat, as well as eating habits. I am in no way recommending not having the surgery, I am happy with it, but please be aware of your committment. Thanks for indulging me.
  8. denim, are you going to have your band replaced? Why did you have yours removed? I was banded in Oct. of 2007 and I have had a hard go of it. I initially lost 48 pounds, but have since gained back all but 15! I am so upset with myself. I have found myself to be very persistant and if there is a food I shouldnt eat, I find ways to eat it. I have had issues and had to have all the Fluid taken out, in the past year I have had a lump removed from my breast and a rotator cuff surgery which has left me with very limited movement in the arm. I currently take PT for the arm, as the surgery was only 7 weeks ago. But anyway, enough excuses. I have been going for months now to get my fluid back in, and just yesterday, the fill I had is VERY noticeable. I have restriction and that is awesome. I am going back to square one and following the rules like a "newborn". Wish me well, as I wish you all well.

How is everyone doing? What is everyone's carb limit? Do you cut calories and carbs, or just carbs?
  14. Hi Happytrucker. I dont really work out, though I know I should! I bought some of thos Sketchers shape ups shoes though, they work! Going home the same day as surgery was ok. I didn't have any issues with that. Please dont get yourself all worked up over that. If you need to stay, I am sure they would keep you. Good luck.
  15. I have been moving more and trying to eat lean cuisine dinners and things like that. Also trying to consistently have a protein shake for breakfast.

Going For It Again in 2010

I have to go low carb also. That's the best way for me to lose the weight. I am looking into a tummy tuck in June. Let me know how yours goes. Thanks.

I know what you mean about not getting the determination to exercise. But starting today, I am going to hop on my elliptical every day...doesnt matter if its 10 min. or 30...I just have to do it. I also think I will ride the exercise bike at school during my planning period. That should give me the daily exercise I need. My hubby and I have decided if I lose about 50 pounds by end of June, I will be getting a tummy tuck that month. I wonder if that is incentive enough?

I am in a funk, as I began to eat around the band and put some weight back on. I lost a lot of weight very quickly, then stopped losing, then put some back on. Recently, I've had to get most of my fluid taken out due to severe reflux and heartburn, so I have had NO restriction. I know this is a tool, but I need to get back into the habit of using it. I would like a band buddy too, Sabrina, if you are interested.
  21. Bantastic meals sound good, but pricey. Anyway, I am back to low carb. I had serious heartburn/reflux issues and half of my fluid was removed, I have NO restriction. ANyway, I decided I would go low carb and it is working for me, lost 3 pounds since Tuesday. Today so far: Protein shake Coffee Chef's Salad...yum Will probably have steak and salad tonight. LOVE IT!
  22. I know what Swedish meatballs are, but what are Scottish meatballs???
  23. What are Bandtastic Meals?
  24. I'm going back to low carb. Today I have had 2 protein shakes 1 lc protein bar dinner: homemade chef's salad with ham, cheese, boiled egg and ranch dressing. YUM

Going For It Again in 2010

Hi everyone, I want to join up with this group... I got my band over 2 yrs ago and lost really well at first. Lost over 50 pounds, however, in the last yr and a half, I've gained back 30! Icecream is the devil! I am banning icecream from my home for good. I have the large band that hold 14 cc's and had 11 cc's in, but went thru such bad heartburn and reflux (from trying to eat around the band) that they had to unfil me by half. I was told if we didnt get this heartburn under control, I could lose my band. I feel so much better. I have decided low carb is definitely for me. Before, I couldnt eat meats or eggs, because the band was too tight. I ate things such as ice cream, baked potatoes with lots of butter, fried shrimp (in small bites) mexican food...all the stuff that goes down easily. I hope, with the band being loosened, that I am able to eat the meats and eggs and veggies that are GOOD for me. Today, so far, I have had 2 protein shakes. I will have a nice chef's salad tonight for dinner. (home made) ALso, I refuse to give up coffee, have it with half/half. and lots of water and tea sweatened with splenda. Thanks for letting me go on and on. Hope to post and talk to y'all daily. We can do this!
