    Dumb guilty TV pleasures

Hi my name is Brandi and I'm a reality show junkie (first step's admitting it right?). LOL. I love pretty much all of 'em. I'm even watching "I want to be a Hilton" *hides in shame*. I love the Surreal Life, Americas Next Top Model, Pimp my ride (I saw one with a Pacer the other night, they found a LIVE RAT living in her car!!! EEEKKK!). My absolute favorite right now though is Strip Search on VH1 Thursday nights. It's hilarious. The creator of the Vegas male review Thunder from Down Under (yumm) is creating an all American male review for the Las Vegas Hilton. There was this looney toon named Jonny on there and he had some serious issues that made for some great entertainment...unfortunately he quit. But it's still fantabulous!!

    First fill fears

That is so funny you mention that because I was not even nervous about the surgery, even as they were wheeling me back (I think it's cause my husband was nervous enough for both of us LOL). But I go for my first fill today and I'm acutally kinda nervous. I think it's mostly because the whole PBing is more likely after you have some restriction and the thought that i know i'm not going to be able to eat like I have been lately.

    "beeping" through security checks????

I beeped going through the dectector at DFW Airport, got pulled aside, wanded and was telling the girl what it was and she was like "oh how's that working, my mom's been thinking bout having that done" LOL. On my way back, I didn't set off the detector in Vegas. Think it just kinda depends. The chick at dfw said the card didn't really matter cause they had to follow procedure and wand and pat down.

    Awful PB experience

Eggs are a no-go for me as well. Last Saturday I stopped and got a breakfast borrito and it got stuck for a second (long enough to make ya panic a little) but it passed. I just chalked it up to eating too fast and not chewing well. I tried another one Monday morning and it was the same but way worse. I never did pb but man that was something i don't wanna do again. So no eggs....not that I'm heartbroken....I can't stand 'em unless they have a ton of cheese on 'em.

SERIOUS ONLY: Giving up junk food.

Once I could eat solid foods again I definately went a little overboard....I was supposed to have my first fill last week but I blew all my money on vacation in Vegas week before last *sigh*. Yesterday we grilled out and I ate a WHOLE burger- I'm having this thing for burgers cause that's what I wanted before my surgery and then I woke up from the anestesia with a crazy craving for a cheeseburger. I guess the junior banana split from sonic last night didn't help much either. So I'm trying to do better as of today and vowed that i'm going to start my exercise routine tonight and work on these flabby things most common folk call arms :|

I guess I could considering I've had nothing but soup, applesauce, pudding and yogart for the past 9 days LOL. If it is true wooohoooo I broke 200!!!

    Joke Thread

This is purported to be an actual letter sent to a man named Ryan DeVries by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality, State of Michigan. This guy's response is hilarious, but read the State's letter before you get to the response letter. (State's letter) SUBJECT: DEQ File No.97-59-0023; T11N; R10W, Sec. 20; Montcalm County Dear Mr. DeVries: It has come to the attention of the Department of Environmental Quality that there has been recent unauthorized activity on the above referenced parcel of property. You have been certified as the legal landowner and/or contractor who did the following unauthorized activity: Construction and maintenance of two wood debris dams across the outlet stream of Spring Pond. A permit must be issued prior to the start of this type of activity. A review of the Department's files show that no permits have been issued. Therefore, the Department has determined that this activity is in violation of Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams, of the Natural Resource and Environmental Protection Act, Act 451 of the Public Acts of 1994, being sections 324.30101 to 324.30113 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, annotated. The Department has been informed that one or both of the dams partially failed during a recent rain event, causing debris and flooding at downstream locations. We find that dams of this nature are inherently hazardous and cannot be permitted. The Department therefore orders you to cease and desist all activities at this location, and to restore the stream to a free-flow condition by removing all wood and brush forming the dams from the stream channel. All restoration work shall be completed no later than January 31, 2003. Please notify this office when the restoration has been completed so that a follow-up site inspection may be scheduled by our staff. Failure to comply with this request or any further unauthorized activity on the site may result in this case being referred for elevated enforcement action. We anticipate and would appreciate your full cooperation in this matter. Please feel free to contact me at this office if you have any questions. Sincerely, David L. Price District Representative Land and Water Management Division This is the actual response sent back: Re: DEQ File No. 97-59-0023; T11N; R10W, Sec. 20; Montcalm County. Dear Mr. Price, Your certified letter dated 12/17/02 has been handed to me to respond to. I am the legal landowner but not the Contractor at 2088 Dagget, Pierson, Michigan. A couple of beavers are in the (State unauthorized) process of constructing and maintaining two wood "debris" dams across the outlet stream of my Spring Pond. While I did not pay for, authorize, nor supervise their dam project, I think they would be highly offended that you call their skillful use of natures building materials "debris." I would like to challenge your department to attempt to emulate their dam project any time and/or any place you choose. I believe I can safely state there is no way you could ever match their dam skills, their dam resourcefulness, their dam ingenuity, their dam persistence, their dam determination and/or their dam work ethic. As to your request, I do not think the beavers are aware that they must first fill out a dam permit prior to the start of this type of dam activity. My first dam question to you is: (1) Are you trying to discriminate against my Spring Pond Beavers.... or (2) do you require all beavers throughout this State to conform to said dam request? If you are not discriminating against these particular beavers, through The Freedom of Information Act, I request completed copies of all those other applicable beaver dam permits that have been issued. Perhaps we will see if there really is a dam violation of Part 301, Inland Lakes and Streams, of the Natural Resource and environmental Protection Act, Act451 of the Public Acts of 1994, being sections 324.30101 to 324.30113 of the Michigan Compiled Laws, annotated. I have several concerns. My first concern is... aren't the beavers entitled to legal representation? The Spring Pond Beavers are financially destitute and are unable to pay for said representation, so the State will have to provide them with a dam lawyer. The department's dam concern that either one or both of the dams failed during a recent rain event causing flooding is proof that this is a natural occurrence, which the Department is required to protect. In other words, we should leave the Spring Pond Beavers alone rather than harassing them and calling them dam names. If you want the stream "restored" to a dam free-flow condition please contact the beavers, but if you are going to arrest them, they obviously did not pay any attention to your dam letter... they being unable to read English. In my humble opinion, the Spring Pond Beavers have a right to build their unauthorized dams as long as the sky is blue, the grass is green and water flows downstream. They have more dam rights than I do to live and enjoy Spring Pond. If the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection lives up to its name, it should protect the natural resources (Beavers) and the environment (Beavers' Dams). So, as far as the beavers and I are concerned, this dam case can be referred for more elevated enforcement action right now. Why wait until 1/31/2003? The Spring Pond Beavers may be under the dam ice then and there will be no way for you or your dam staff to harass them then. In conclusion, I would like to bring to your attention a real environmental quality (health) problem in the area. It is the bears! Bears are actually defecating in our woods. I definitely believe you should be persecuting the defecating bears and leave the beavers alone. If you are going to investigate the beaver dam, watch your step! (The bears are not careful where they dump!) Being unable to comply with your dam request, and being unable to contact you on your dam answering machine, I am sending this response to your dam office. Thank You, Ryan DeVries & The Dam Beavers

    Is this right?

Could be but I'll take it, I just wonder if it's my scale cause Sunday I was 200, then Monday I was 203, yesterday I was 200 again and then this morning 198. I always weigh myself in the mornings and at night just to see if there's a difference. I'm eager for my post-op next tuesday to see what the Dr.'s scale says.

  21. The seminar is usually just general info Q&A type stuff. You'll need to then schedule a consultation with the surgeon and they'll discuss your personal situation, requirements and all that good stuff during your private consultation. Kudos to your bud for being such a great support.

OT but I am sooooooo MAD!!

The time's I have ordered flowers I've always used proflowers.com They were always delivered on time via FedEX or UPS and hadn't even bloomed yet when they were delivered that way they last a LOT longer. I just ordered some last week for my moms B-day and had them delivered here to my house since her b-day was monday and I knew she'd be over after my band surgery Monday. The Irises and tulips were closed tight and didn't even start to open until the second day. And they've always lasted at least 2 weeks.

    May Surgery Dates

Hi everyone, I got my band yesterday. Ugh! I'm sooo sore, mostly at the port site. I've been so scared to take my pain meds (liquid Loritab) just cause those kinds of things tend to make me sick to my stomach, but I sucked it up this morning and took some and all seems to be fine for now. I'm having some pain in my chest from the gas but other than that, doing well. I had a little Water and 1/2 a thing of Jello. Was anyone else afraid to eat anything that first time? Funny thing is when I was in recovery I had the hugest craving for a cheeseburger...strange huh? LOL Hubby has been great and waiting on me hand and foot...think I may have to milk this one . Even my sweet 68lbs boxer girl has been so sweet and careful around me like she knows mommy hurts.

    Last Meal

I'm getting banded on Monday. Just wondering if any of you already banded folks cheated on your pre-op diet and had a big "last meal" so to speak the day or so before your surgery. If so, what'd ya pick? I've been pretty good for the most part- cheated a little last weekend just cause I was running around doing dog rescue stuff and wasn't anywhere to make a shake or really eat anything sensable (pizza *hides*). I'm so afraid the doc's gonna be able to tell. I'm trying to decide if I want Mexican or Maccaroni Grill for my last one.
