  1. I am only a couple of days post op and can honestly say food doesn't appeal to me at all. I had a really strict preop and im starting to wonder if that helped me with head hunger because I don't have any.
  2. I took eight weeks off too. So glad I did. I am a bit sore. But since it was a revision I think that is normal. I have myself ob an eating schedule. I can definitely say no hunger or interest in food at all.
  3. I called my doctor. I actually have a G tube which is different than the drains most people have. Because I was a conversion from lapband to RNY this actually goes to my old stomach. He said the green gunk is ok from there. I had the kind of drain you had too in the hospital (J tube) but they took that out before I left. That was pink clear in a grenade looking thing. Im glad I called tho because the amount (3 ounces) every hour or so was freaking me out. Thank you!!!
  4. Really? Ok good to know. I will call. I keep having a lot of green gunk come out. But it is the drain to my old stomach not my new pouch.
  5. How long did you take off from work? I can't imagine going back in a week. I am 41 tho and can tell this surgery was harder for me than ones I had in my 20s or 30s.
  6. I have a drain. It isn't as bad as I thought. When I feel bloated I open the valve and it helps. I had two initially but the pulled one when I left the hospital. This one is to my old stomach and will be in for a month. Like I said it does help with the gas and pressure so that is good.
  7. That is fantastic! Great job! We had our surgeries on the same day. Today is mu h better than yesterday for me. I feel human again. I took a lovely shower last night and it helped a lot.
  8. I slept last night too. I woke up took my BP medication ( crushed in a teaspoon of sugar free applesauce). Then I walked and drank some Water. I had 2 ounces of plain greek yogurt mixed with a teaspoon of sugarfree applesauce. It was great. I almost think the torture of doing thirty days of liquids beforehand makes this part easier. At least I don't have to drink a chocolate Protein Shake. Bleah. My hubby is running to the store to get bananas. I need potassium so I will have a banana vanilla smoothie for lunch. In the meantime my drain is still cranking out green stuff and the gas and gurgling is much better today. I swear I sounded like a truck driver last night. Lol
  9. I just had my revision from lap band to RNY on Wednesday. I came hone from the hospital today. First things I notice are no hunger, no reflux, the weird tightness in my neck is gone. I don't have regrets but it is super early for me. Did I mention no hunger?
  10. My bowels have been grumbling all day. The weirdest sound just came from my drain and a ton of stuff shot our. Weird. I just took a shower and suspect it was all the moving around
  11. I am using short term disability. I got 8 weeks and plan to use it all
  12. Unjury chicken broth. Yum!
  13. How are you doing? My surgery was the 12th and I am still super groggy.
  14. I think because I was a revision from band to bypass. I had two drains. They took one out today and the other will stay un until my month follow up. It helps with the gas and bloating.
  15. I had to get multiple rounds of IV potassium in the hospital. I think that was the worst part of the while surgery. Anyone else have this problem? Did ir get better afterward?
  16. I lost 9 lbs on 30 days of liquids preop. I totally get your fears.
  17. 9lbs. I have a horrible metabolism. I didn't cheat either.
  18. I have had a bit of nausea. They are keeping me unto friday. My oxygen has been a little low but overall doing pretty well
  19. Im in my room. Surgery went wel. Ill be here two days. Hardly any pain at all. )
  20. Im getting ready to leave for the hospital now. Prayers sent up and blessings coming down!
  21. We do midnight gardening all the time! In Florida that's the best time. Lol
  22. We had a very similar conversation. If I don't do something we both know where that leads. In my mind and now his ( thank God) trying is better than not trying. At 217 lbs 5'2" I am on the track to diabetes, heart disease, sleep apnea etc. Tomorrow morning is my surgery and by this time tomorrow night ill be on my way to recovery.
