  1. I had gout before surgery. My right big toe was constantly flared. Since surgery it is like I don't even have gout anymore! I eat a lot of greek yogurt and get my protein from dairy and lowfat cheese and think that has helped. Try including more yogurt in your diet to offset other types of protein. Red meat is a gout inflamer.
  2. Watermelon. Last night. I didn't have any protein before boy did I learn my lesson. Grant it, it was my first dumping but I hated the way I felt.
  3. I love grilled zucchini too
  4. The great thing for me is I love salad with just white balsamic vinegar on it so it will be healthy. I pray it is 8 weeks or under for me too because the thought of something fresh sounds so good.
  5. How soon after surgery can you eat salad? My one month follow up with my nutritionist is Thursday and it is the first question I am going to ask. Fresh vegetables and fruit is the only thing I crave.
  6. I am so worried about mine coming out in Thursday. It's been in for a month. I have a G drain, not a JP drain. The JP drain they pulled while still in the hospital. This one is in my old stomach and pulls and hurts all the time. I am freaked out about them pulling it but know I will be so happy to have it gone.
  7. 3 ounces roasted chicken 1/2 ounce potato.
  8. Is it like an omelet? Sounds good!
  9. I didn't have diarrhea but I did have terrible cramps and felt nauseated. It went away after 45 minutes so it must have been dumping. It felt awful.
  10. What does dumping feel like? I just ate 1/2 cup of watermelon and my lower abdomen started hurting really badly. Not near the pouch but like near the colon. I feel awful right now. Nauseated and in pain. Is this dumping?
  11. My meal plan is very similar except I have another snack at night. It is typically a glass of skim milk or a cheese stick. Something with Protein but easy on the pouch. I think having a hard consistent eating pattern has taken the guesswork out of a lot of this.
  12. You are not failing! Stop it because if you tell yourself that then guess what you will. 20 lbs in 4 weeks is great! That's 5 lbs a week. When have you ever lost 5 lbs a week? Im almost 4 weeks out and down 9 lbs. Am I a failure? Hell no I am not. This is not easy but the scale is going down so how is that failing? I know you are depressed I get it but you need to put positive thoughts in your mind. You can do this we all can. Please try and feel better. Trust me I understand I really do.
  13. My bmi was 40 at time of surgery. 219 lbs and I went home with a G drain for a month. I get it out Thursday. I was a revision from lapband to RNY so im not sure if that is why. By far, the drain has been the worst part so far.
  14. 3 ounces grilled scallops. I am eating fish and shellfish almost every day now. Low fat, low calorie and high protein. Win win!
  15. I am off food too. Nothing sounds good to me. I have to force myself to eat and am not eating nearly enough. I sure hope it gets easier.
  16. 2.6 ounces grilled chicken. 1 teaspoon potato (from hubby).
  17. Hw 267 SW 219 (6/12/13) CW 209 down 2 from last week. Slow but at least going down.
  18. Gout is gone! I was chronically flailed in my right toe preop. I noticed this week I have no pain in my toe, no redness, and no creaking in that joint. That is worth the price of admission!
