    I hate eating!

I second the Zofran suggestion!!!!! I am 10 weeks out and still need one every now and then. Mine are pills but they are very small and easy to swallow. I don't think I could have gotten this far without it!
  2. I was 299 at beginning, . Day of surgery was April 2nd and last Tuesday-10 weeks post op I was down to 249 so that is 50 lbs gone forever!!! .I am 5'9" and my Goal is 170-175ish. I am hoping to get the next 75 off this year. As for clothes....I do not want to spend alot of $$$, so I have gone to Goodwill and bought a couple of things and a few things i have purchased on Ebay. Don't want to pay full price if it may only fit for a month or so. I do have some smaller sizes i held onto from years ago, but it will be a while before I can get into them.
  3. Me too! Not liking this part of it. But if it is just a speed-bump on the road to becoming healthy, I will deal with it. To be honest, I don't always get in all my protein. I am striving to get better at it. I am good with my vitamins and biotin, we'll see if more protein will help.
  4. I too used Short Term Disability. I was initially approved for 6 weeks off at the suggestion of my doctor. Right at the 6th week, after doing so well, I started having pain and threw up a few times. He did a scope and found I had a stricture. That got me 2 more weeks off. So I was able to stay off 8 weeks total to recover. I was happy that my STD was paid at 100%. It was wonderful!

    I miss food!

The pre-op diet and the liquid diet after surgery are VERY hard. I started to gag at the thought of more liquids. Stay strong and keep your eyes on the prize. It will be so worth it very soon. You will do great, hang in there.

Yikes! I am 10 weeks post-op and my hair just started coming out. :-( I was hoping I would be one of the lucky ones and not have the hair loss. I started taking all my vitamins plus biotin 2 weeks before surgery in the hopes of keeping it all. Guess there is no way around this. :-(

    Where is everyone from?

I forgot too....after approval, there is a 3 hour class you have to attend and your pre-op testing ( bloodwork, ekg, etc). This was scheduled to do in one day too so it saves making several trips.

    Where is everyone from?

There is an in-house psych eval, nurse eval, and nutritionist. I met with them in one appt. but was a three hour appt. A week later I had an appt. to meet directly with the doctor. At that point they submitted to insurance. He did do an upper endoscopy a week later to check my esophagus and stomach for ulcers but everything was fine. After approval, I was given a date about 4 weeks out. I had to do a one week liquid diet. I know that can vary for each patient. So he was booked up about a month out but that was not too bad of a waiting list. My surgery was April 2, so not sure if the wait is any longer currently. Again, I could not be happier with this location and their staff. Even though it was a half hour drive to and from his office, it has been so worth it.

    Feeling great..just so dang tired

I had this happen as well early on. Went to my pcp and my blood pressure was barely 90/60. Went off my hb medicine right away. Make sure you stay well hydrated too. Dehydration can make you feel faint.

Meatloaf sounds good. Think I will make that tonight. I use the recipe on the back of the Lipton Beefy Onion soup mix box. My family loves it and it is easy.

    Tip re: reheating protein

This has certainly been the case for me. Any time I have tried to heat up leftover meat...it has caused me a lot of grief. The latest being yesterday. Was in pain for 2 hours and threw up 3 times. Never again will I try to eat leftovers.
