  1. Haven't had the RNY yet but do have a question. I know the difference between head hunger and real hunger because still have my stomach' date=' just banded but slipped. So with bypass the pouch is very little, does it growl when it gets hungry? That is basically how I know when I need to eat, otherwise I don't eat. Help anyone.[/quote']

I'm 2 weeks postop and I noticed about 3 days ago that mine has a painful boulder like growl. It feels like something rolling around and I know I need to drink something other than Water with some weight to it. I have no hunger so that's my only trigger. I had Rny.

  2. My dr has seemed to be one of the strictest doctors on this site I was on liquids for the first 3 weeks then yesterday was put on pureed foods for two to four weeks but I'm supposed to have 3 ounces of Protein and 3 ounces of vegetables they said it may take awhile for me to be able to get up to that amount but yesterday and today I was able to eat 3 ounces of Protein but only once a day

My doc is pretty tight as well I am 2 weeks out and this week I am to slowly try yogurt and pureed cottage cheese. Other than that liquid. Then I go into the 2-4 week full puree. He created the full intra abdominal version of laparoscopic bypass used most commonly so I'm trying to listen but geez its hard I'm already sick of drinking the shakes! His diet is strict but he has never lost a patient with over 7000, I just want my chicken shrimp salad! Not all at once of course!

  3. I have found that the original amount of weight the person started with is a huge factor. For instance my friend and I had our on the same time scale we started our liquid diet on the same day but 6 days later I lost 14 lbs she lost 3. We had our surgeries the same day 12 days later I was down another 8 lbs she was down 6. We used the same shakes have the same lifestyle s for the most part. The difference I started my journey 3 months ago at 386 she started hers 273. We are the same height same ethnic background and age. My weight is obviously coming off oy a week after surgery my family is noticing and I'm not weighing. She has weighed and has hospital weight still. Everyone's body metabolically is different your rate of caloric intake may be way off from even your closet relative. I got obese because of quality not quantity my sister was the opposite and took hers off with no problem.

  4. Thank you so much' date=' I am ready for my new start.[/quote']

I have read a lot and apparently there is shrinkage of the fatty tissue so it definitely is beneficial. I am not liking the liquid diet I have cheated several times but made sure it is healthy Proteins And only small portions 1 time a day for satiety. It seems to be really helping and I'm loosing weight already getting into smaller sizes. Surgery is officially a week away on the 30th and I'm spiked but scared about the ability to find likable maintainable foods postop. I have such a varied pallet now that I'm nervous as to the changes that may occur later

  5. I am 4 days post op and i also only had to do liquids the day prior and it was Clear Liquids only but i ate normal food up until the day before that....i also can't have any food at all for awhile...surgery day was tuesday and tuesday- saturday is Water and clear drinks under 5 calories then sunday i start 3 Protein shakes and Water i go on monday to find out whats next but i see so many eating Jello and stuff right away and one girl even had reg food in the hospital .. also im not supposed to drink milk at all either...its so weird how different every dr is

My doctor is Roger de LA Torre he created the preferred version of lapro. Rny that surgeons use now he prefers the 2 weeks liquid prep I'm on day 2 not liking it! But he's done 7000 plus surgeries so I guess I have to listen
