  1. Please help me make a list of daily menus! Think it might be a great help to all. Suggestion for the format: Start with how many months post op (very important so readers can gage where you are at and zoom into daily menus to assist them - this can help future post-oppers as well!) Please be so kind and share, even just one day. Of course you can do many many days as well! Try and make it as complete as possible. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and Snacks in between, amounts (ounces or grams) and if possible how many Protein that amiunts to at the end of the day. Please please please join in! I beg of you! I myself are feeling so stuck and really need some ideas and guidance and i am just thinking maybe there are others also feeling as lost as me. That would be so kind please if you can share some. ????

    Family unsupportive

This is so sad for me to hear. How can your loved ones not support you and want you to be happy and healthy? Putting their own issues in front of your health and actual drive to do something about it. That makes me so mad.
  3. To me that looks like a baby bump!! Deaddemmamma i am so sorry to hear about this. I hope they get you fixed soon and that you get all better. I am very afraid of getting an ulcer as well. Thinking of you!
  4. Hiya. Does anyone know if we can take cayenne pepper tablets (vegecaps)? As a preventative measure - as i am prone to stomach ulcers and tend to drink a painkiller every now and then. I know from before the op even that apparently cayenne pepper is very good for the tummy. No i just want to know whether it is good for a bariatric surgery tummy as well?
  5. Hope anyone can help. I use a cpap machine for my sleep apnea, however i basically havent used it for 2 months. Reason being it wakes me up and gives me a restless sleep, i now sleep better without it! Perhaps it is blowing too strongly, as ive lost about 80 pounds since surgery 5 months ago. There is a whistling sound coming out of it at the back somewhere and it drives me up the wall. Anyone had that problem? What could cause it? Also it has a weird smell lately. I cleaned the pipe every so often with soap and Water. Also took out the little material stuffing in the back to flip it with my fingers to clean it like i was told, though nothing was there, like no dust or anything. I am smoking again however and that obviously mist have an influence on the smell of the air - but honestly i really dont think it is all that. Is there some way i can open up the little machine thingy and perhaps clean out its innards? Does anyone know what i am talking about. Almost a smell of a cupboard that has been closed for too long. It just makes me not wanting to use it. And i want to use it though because obviously i need it! Hope someone has some advice ????

    Help after Surgery ?

My mom came to stay with me for almost a week after the op. it was the best thing! I was quite emotional and it was so good having someone with me just to not be alone. She made me broth and just mothered me a bit which really helped me feel better - i was quite out of it for a few days, had a very high fever they never could figure out what caused it. But i know i wouldve gone crazy if i was all alone the whole day while boyfriend is working.
  10. Whoa friends! Thanks for sharing all this info. And for this question. I was also wondering about it and now i understand a lot better! Man, i love this forum so much. All of you, so much!!

    water

Heya Suspect i am also having too much salt. It is my only indulgence i feel! Making the rigid rules a bit more bearable by adding salt and pepper to my food. Especially cottage cheese with cracker, it just becomes nice and edible then. Hmm what is the drawback to too much salt?? I am getting enough liquid in i think, at least 2 liters.
  16. Oh no Dori, I am so sorry to hear this!! Not long now, lady. Counting the days with you! xxx

  19. Hi young one! Thanks for the tip! I have that book too and must make use of it more. It can be a schlepp though as it contain a lot of recipes with products we dont get here. I am hoping to see a lot of regular days' menus by regular people like all of us. Tried and trusted things that everyone actually follow and it works for them. Come on ya'll, let's make a menu inventory at different stages of RnY!

I am 5 months out and really seem to struggle to eat apples. Anyone else the same problem? It feels stuck, although i chew chew chew. Allover feeling of unease and a bit lightheaded and pushing up. The weird thing is i can eat chocolate and i am FINE! It does nothing to me whatsoever! Just my luck, go figure!

    August 22nd!

I have read your discussion and i have to say, Mrs Katie, it does seem that you are a bit overreacting. What Ricky is saying is really true and I for one appreciate it if one gives true and unbiased info and just also actually trying to help. You do not have to take any of that advice of course, you alone make decisions for yourself. But you honestly come across as condescending and that is in fact a bit rude especially in a public forum like this where all of us are fighting their own kind of battle and come here for support and also to give support. Please dont see this post as an attack from my part - that is not at all my intention, i am just speaking up because i do think your treatment of ricky is a bit unfair, and not nice. And all of us try and be nice and encouraging with each other here, because of course we all have suffered greatly in our lives because of all kinds of prejudice and also suffer a lot post op (especially on a psychological level). Be kind.
  25. Yay! Looking wonderful! So happy for you
