  1. I think the fat just releases all those hormones and your body just levels out. I have read that it boosts fertility, especially in PCOS sufferers. I am excited and scared about that. My husband and I have never had to think of birth control before since nothing was ever regular. That will be another new thing to deal with. I am thinking it would be very detrimental to get pregnant too soon as your body is still adjusting and can hardly accommodate for what you need. I think I read it needs to be at least 18 months post-op to be healthy for the baby. I am just wanting to get myself healthy first.
  2. I just spoke with my Patient Advocate, and she said this is completely normal. She said that most likely there will be a few more days like this, and then we will see some weight drop off right before surgery. She said it is not substantial, but that not losing weight is normal because we are replacing those nutrients with heavy liquids like the shakes and lots and lots of water. BUT she did warn that it will probably lead to some diarrhea in a day or two so to be careful where you at at. Lol.
  3. I am on day 5 too, and have gained almost 2lbs as well! Makes no sense!! Grrr.... so frustrating!! I haven't had one bite of food since Sunday and I am gaining weight. How is this possible? Everything is sugar-free. Maybe more water is needed due to high sodium with the broth?
  4. Add me to the April 15th list! Wooot Wooot!! I can say that sitting here wolfing down my broth, SF peach Jello, and SF cranberry juice makes me wonder why I would ever guzzle burgers and fries the way I did. I still feel like I am hungry, but day 5 of the 14 day clear diet has me not starving anymore. Just having the hunger twinge for real tasting food. Anyone else doing that?
  5. I have gained a pound or two in the last few days too! On liquids!! Makes no sense. I am not sure what is happening. With only a liquid diet, this feels impossible. I thought at first it was all the barium making me constipated but now I feel like I am not losing enough and I am worried I will get to the day of surgery and be told to go home and lose more. Ugh! I am already down a lot from my heaviest but I am just not losing anything right now and it feels super frustrating.
  6. I have been overweight since I was a child. I was a very curvy teenager, and I had no problem with that. My ideal size was about a 14-16 or so. I am 5"10' so it looms funny for me to be too skinny. I met my husband when I was 15, and a size 16. We were two peas in pod so we got hitched at 20. Then, after that, and we did all kinds of outdoor activities. We went hiking, fishing, camping, and the like. We did tons of traveling. It was great. Then there were issues with conceiving and I was diagnoses with Polysistic Ovaries and it really messed up my hormones. I started packing on weight really badly. Then, came the migraines and the really bad thigh and leg pain and even use a CPAP. All of these pains and issues just caused me to become a recluse. I really packed on the weight then because I didn't want to go outside. Now, I take meds for everything from HBP, Diabetes, pain, high blood inflammation pain markers, sleeping pills, and tons of migraine meds. I started the WLS journey on 2/22 and my insurance company was amazing. My surgeon got me in right away. I am worried about this clear liquid diet because all I want it shrimp I keep seeing on TV. I starving, but really wanting to push through. I was on another forum but there was no support or any responses. I just want this to be over with so I can move on to the phase where my work can pay off and weight drops. On 2/22, I was 391 On 3/24, I was 377 On 4/2, I was 358 I feel I have made good progress, now I am just waiting for surgery on 4/15 @ 9. Thank you for any support you offer. It is appreciated.
  7. Yep, I just did all of that this past Monday. You will go for labs, then they will do chest X-Rays and draw blood from an arterial vein (which hurts BTW) and then you will have an ultrasound of your belly. After all that, you will go to a room with a giant machine, and drink barium, jump on this machine while still drinking the barium and it will fly you around to coat your whole stomach so it will light up and they can take pictures. Then you will NEED to take some Milk of Magnesia because you cannot go to the bathroom for a day or two after that barium stuff. The worst part was the arterial blood draw and the barium. It took about 3.5 hours altogether.
  8. Hahaha right!! I am on Day 4, almost 5 of a 14 day liquid diet. Is this what everyone else is doing too? I heard some people only have 3 days, must be nice. I have been doing really well on it, but tonight my husband cooked before I got home and because of the smell, I literally had to leave the house. I haven't cheated on my diet once, but uggghhhh these TV commercials are killing me. I literally went for a long walk just to get away from it. I have found the sugar-free Hawaiian punch grape water additives added to crushed ice is like eating a snow-cone, so that helps. I do five until late at night, then my tummy cramps. I feel like I am waking up to pee too! It seems crazy how much liquid we are downing at this point.
  9. April 15th surgery date!!! On day 4 of a 14 day clear liquid diet. This has been really tough! Everyone still needs me to cook and take care of them but just smelling food and then drinking my protein shake is hard! 10 more days, and then the healing begins.
