For my preop testing I had to do an EKG, chest xray, labs, and a pulmonary test. I am currently waiting for the nurse to call me schedule my EGD. Other than that I only have to do a six month diet. I don't have to do a psych evaluation, cause my psychiatrist wrote a letter to the surgeon and they accepted that as my evaluation. Now I am just hoping my insurance covers my visit to the bariatric medical specialist.

Better contact the insurance company and make sure your obesity is not a pre-existing condition. My husband started a new job this last September. I went to the seminar and then called my insurance for benefit verification. Turns out I will be covered in December when the pre-existing condition clause comes off. Now I am stuck having to wait.

I bet your hand was hurting. I hope I don't have to do the whole pencil and paper thing. I guess if I want my surgery bad enough I can survive it.

How did your evaluation go? I'm still waiting to have mine.

I am also wondering if my meds will affect whether I get the sleeve or a bypass. Due to the malabsorption issues of the bypass. I would like a bypass, but if it came down to it I would do the sleeve. I guess that is one of the questions I can ask on Friday at my appointment.

Thanks! We should keep each other posted on how everything is going. I know I am getting labs done, chest xray, EKG, seeing the doctor and dietitian. Not sure what else, I know they set aside four hours for your initial appointment. What sucks is I have to go fasting and my appointment isn't until 1130.

My first appointment is this next friday. I am so excited. I am still six months from surgery, cause I have to do the six month diet. Hopefully the time will go buy fairly quickly. I do have health conditions from being obese. I have diabetes, sleep apnea, and PCOS. I can't wait for my healthier lifestyle.

Magnesium citrate comes in many different flavors. Walgreens has a selection. Lemon is the worse by far. Drinking it cold is easiest.

Both surgeons where I am going are very nice. I have also worked with them both. I am a respiratory therapist, I have cared for their patients before. We met most of the staff at the seminar, they seem friendly.
