  1. *speechless* I hope you have older ones in the bunch who can help. Years ago I had a fantasy of having 5 kids.
  2. My surgery is 2 hours away. I would have driven myself there but then didn't know what LOL. I probably would have driven myself home LOL but clearly that's not safe. But once I get home, I am on my own with everything and my pain & health, thus why I am getting a ton done this week. You are not alone my friend!!!
  3. No not at all. I am way too excited too be scared, despite anesthesia complications. I wish it were tomorrow because I am all packed up. Gave the big dog a bath tonight and the sitter will check in tomorrow, then will finish cleaning the house. I am on my own for this. I have one friend dropping me off, and a different one picking me up - and I have never felt better. hmmm trying to upload a pic here, guess IDK how
  4. whoa, that looks like a lot of calories in 1 serving. My doc would never go for that because of the cals and fat content despite the type of fat.
  5. WOW congrats!!! So happy to read an update from someone who had surgery today. I am going on Weds. I have problems with anesthesia. They give me a lot of meds for it. I have never had gas pains so IDK what that's like. I am sorry. But I am so happy to read of someone's surgery today!!! Best recovery to you!
  6. Hoping to hear from these girls already!!! Hope all went ok!
  7. I was searching scars and bikinis and stumbled upon this thread. WOW this above comment has been one of my nightmares.... and some might think it is "fair game" to ask this question.... LIKE EVERYONE IN MY LIFE. To Irshangel: Like you, I too am a Yo-Yo-er. My surgery is in 3 days. I will be under 200 lbs that day. It didn't bother me to read this comment in the forum. I'm actually glad to see someone asked it, and way happier to see the responses to it. It is no one's business but my doctor's why I have made this choice. It was not done on a whim and I am not a dummy. But this comment really gets under my skin because there's so much judgement packed in the punch.
  8. Me neither..... I keep worrying I'll get into registration and they'll say something like, oh we have to cancel, or oh we have to reschedule. A friend is 'dumping' me off at the hospital and I'm hesitant to even let her drive off. LOL Coolnessa - BEST OF LUCK!!!
  9. And you really made me smile back :D
  10. I am actually scared that I will not be able to stop the weight loss. I do not want to go below a sz 6/7. There are people on here who had goals of sz 8/10 and are now sz 2. Thanks for the responses and kind words!!!
  11. At the risk of sounding vain, I have that now at my weight And I don't want to lose it when I am 70 lbs less. I am pre-op w/ a large weight loss sz 18 today. I will actually be 199 lbs by my surgery on Weds. I AM a firery redhead. LOL. I have become rather subdued lately due to my weight steadily rising. My fear is that I will lose my presence when I am smaller.
  12. Yeah LuLu... I am already packed and had my list for 2 weeks just burning a hole in my pocket. The days cant go by fast enough. Good luck and pass on some updates when you're up for it!
  13. Hey Erika!!! I just spent some time in your blog - the engagement picture brought tears to my eyes!!! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE your wedding flats! Watching the wedding video now. I am soooo freaking out for Wednesday! I think LuLu goes tomorrow!
  14. I know this is a support forum, so to me, the above comment is EXACTLY what I was about to say. You should consider therapy for yourself... and you should consider it for couples. I am going through similar with my husband and he refuses to go to counseling. I go for myself though. I thought I read in another thread that you are disabled. I am too. My disability has been an EXTREME strain on our relationship, much of which was not my fault. Nuff said
  15. Does anyone ever mix any type of chocolate protien mix w/water and heat it to make hot chocolate, OR mix w/the Swiss Miss?
  16. OK, I too am PCOD and insulin resistant and alrhough I can be successful when I cut out carbs, I have experienced what you mention. In my case, I was not getting enough food!! I wasn't eating enough actually. So I changed my entire everything by increasing all protiens drastically and walking. And I forced myself to eat 5x a day instead of 2 or 3.
  17. I am wednesday. I too am nervous and soooooo excited. Please update us!!! You're gonna do great!
  18. OK so here's a biology question.... You said your goal was a 7 but you ended up a 2.... was that by choice or did you just keep losing weight? How does your body then know to stop at sz 2 and not end up at sz 0 or less? I have actually been worried that I will have a hard time not staying at a size. I do not ever want to fall below a sz 6 for example.
  19. I am curious of your experience in this.... and it pertains to women, though men are welcome to respond For those who have lost weight and are BELOW a size 12 for example: What is your expereince when you walk into a room, or an event, or somewhere with a crowd? Do you think people noticed you MORE when you were larger, or do you think people notice you more NOW that you are smaller and perhaps fit into the more normal size range? Now I know this is about confidence for some..... and for some it could be about <physical> beauty. Some might feel they stand out MORE as a smaller person and they like that, and some might feel they blend in more and they like that. I am having this emotional fear that when I drop this weight, I am going to get "lost in the crowd". I wonder if my size has added "presence" to me that my personality wouldn't ordinarily convey..... On the contrast, I wonder if I will look sooooo fabulous that people will notice me everywhere. LOL So what has your experience been???
  20. Size 2??? OMG I could not imagine
  21. It's like I have a cold - with some brown phlegm (indicitive of an infection). It hasn;t full on hit me, but it's there. I dont recall you posting in my other thread. Search it - its a thread for people having RNY on April 15-16-17. But join it if you would like. ***doing the countdown dance*** !!! :D
  22. I will be thrilled to reach 150, no less 140. GOOD FOR YOU in your journey. It feels amazing to wear size 8 & 10!! My surgery is in 4 days..... I will break 200 before then!!! I am not really struggling to stay on this track (re: pre surgery eating & weight loss) to be honest. I just know myself and know that my pattern cycles and in a year from now, without RNY, I could easily be 240. I'm not really in a rush to lose weight after RNY. My interest is being healthier! I'm praying this will help my diabetes and I am through with sugar and carbs.
  23. you have 6 months to lose 10 lbs minimum? You can do that!!! Cut out as many of your starchy carbs as possible, and drink only Water. You will have this for life after surgery anyway. I am not a doctor but I have read rearch that cutting those carbs can help your fibro. If you can make it 4 days without heavy carbs, you will slowly begin to stop craving them. JMHO, but you asked
