The Laproscopic RNY is the way most surgeons like to do it because it it less recovery time and less complications. I'm only 4 days post op and haven't had any pain meds since 2 days post op. It really does help not being cut from breast to belly button.

Good luck tomorrow!! Its crazy, you go in there and they hook your IV up and do some blood work and then they wheel you into the OR. They get you on the table, you pass out and then you're in recovery in what feels like 30 seconds. In and out of being awake.

I attached a pic of my inscions they're 2 days post op.

I was released today from the hospital. They just checked all 7 of my incisions and took out my drainage tube' date=' which felt really weird coming out! She told me right now water is more important than protein until I can get them both going. So I've been sip sip sipping all day. I suggest bringing crystal light packets, it will definitely make all the water easier to choke down. I left the hospital weighing 7lbs more than when I went in because of all of the air they put in. My surgeon also gave me pics of my new stomach inside and they did find a hernia which she repaired while she was in there also. [ATTACH']3425[/ATTACH]

Met with my surgeon again today. Hoping to released sometime this evening. It feels so surreal after the surgery is done. That's all I have been thinking about. Thinking, wow, I can't believe I've actually done this and I WON'T BE FAT FOREVER! Such a cool feeling because now it's reality there's no more questions about the surgery getting done for some dumb reasons. I can't wait for all of you! And thanks for all the support and prayers! This is the best birthday present to myself ever!

I had my GI scan w/contract to make sure no leaks. The stuff tasted like pine sol. Gross. But, everything checked out. They have me doing to the spirometer tests alot. They started me on liquid Lortab since they took away the morphine pump. I this real hard to get the liquids in. I didn't expect it to be this difficult. I just think I'm still in shock that I've done this and won't be fat the rest of my life.

Yay! Doing much better. Been up and walking around. My back has just been killing me though from laying. As for everything else I'm feeling Ok. Haven't used my morphine pump for a while. Just feels like really sore tummy muscles. Going to doing my upper GI make sure no leaks and then they'll give me something to drink. My throat hurts is sooooo dry !

Just thought I'd update everyone. Surgery went well. Just very exhausted! Been sleeping all day. They took out my catheter a couple hours ago. My back is hurting more than anything else. Belly just feels sore.

Clear liquid diet has gone alot better than expected. I've sipped on liquids all day, eaten a few popcicles and sugar free jello and I actually haven't had much hunger. I've been trying to just keep focused on doing well and not thinking of food. Just the rest of today, tomorrow and then surgery! Can't believe it's here. Felt like this day would never come and I'm getting emotional rather than nervous. So happy I started this process when I did and didn't wait any longer.

How did I know that I would end up a stuffy mess right before surgery? I've been working on this process for 7 months, I finally have surgery in 10 days and I'm sick! I'm almost afraid to go to the Dr. For fear that they'll tell me I can't get surgery because I'm sick. Stuffy, sore throat, ear ache. If they put my on antibiotics, do you think that would delay my surgery for any reason?
-
Good idea. I will definitely have to do that! It just make me nervous. I just know if I have a fever that day I'm sure that means no surgery. Yuck! Can't think that way

Kudos to all you fantastic ladies for being so strong to do this for you and your families. Having any children going through this is just incredible to me. I have yet to have children of my own and this is one of motivations for this surgery. For my future. This surgery will hopefully give me the option to have children.
