  1. Hello all. I'm trying to figure out if I need another fill or if I'm just eating too much junk or what. You can post what a day of meals is like for you?
  2. Wow... I don't even have to think about this one. I am a negative loser so count me in!
  3. I was banded in Aug and haven't lost a thing. Not one stinking pound. I have two fills and I usually get stuck once a day and have to "spit up" every other day. Because of the spitting up I feel that I don't need to be any tighter. On the other hand I'm not losing any weight. No, I haven't watched what I'm eating and no I'm not working out. I'm eating 1/2 what I used to and not eating a lot of junk but still not eating rabbit food. Advice anyone? I am so sad I put my family into so much debt and I'm not losing.:help::cry
  4. Nothing to worry about. I never knew I had one.
  5. Help.... I'm in the same boat. I can eat probably over a cup at a time and am getting hungry every couple of hours. Eg. I had cereal for breakfast at 7:30 and by 10:30 was HUNGRY. I had a whole 8oz yogurt which did nothing for me. I have a 2.4 of 4cc fill. Do I need more? If so, I need to get into the doc ASAP as I will need a passport to go see him as of 01/01/08.
  6. Right before surgery I started counseling for the first time in my life. It's been so helpful. Things I have never really thought about are suddenly coming clear to me. I was most concerned about continuing to binge and that's why I went into counseling. We've really talked about everything but eating and amazingly I haven't had any urges to binge so far. Congrats on the eye opening!
  7. If you're still having the pain, try laying down on the side that hurts. That was the best gas tip I got.
  8. I'm curious about this as well. I am going to TTC my 2nd at the end of next year. I was hoping I could make it the whole time w/out an unfill. Is this possible? What a shame to lose and then gain it all back.
  9. Hi Thin Again Jann. I too am in the same boat. Unfortunately my hubby wasn't very supportive and I kind of took the attitude of I'm doing it anyway. He met me at my best (after two years of losing about 65lbs). Anyhow, I got pregnant and gained it all back and then some. So he thought it was all baby weight and not a result of a lifetime of struggling with my weight. Anyhow, I'm glad I did it. I went to Dr. Ortiz and while I can't say anything about the man himself (I barely remember seeing his face as I was wheeled into the OR), I can say the surgery went off without incidence and I was released next day. I never even took a pain med. Good luck!
  10. Yes the throat things feels weird. That's my cue to know I'm getting full or have eaten too fast (usually the latter). It's kind of weird to know it's time to slow it down when you feel it in your throat.
  11. OKay, I have had two fills (2.4 in a 4.0cc band) and am eating about 1/2 of the giant portions I used to and still not losing!!!!! WTF?
  12. For lunch I had 1/2 a hot dog and got stuck (and full) and threw the rest out. For dinner I am able to chow down on a giant enchilada. Why is it that some foods go right down and others are so difficult?
  13. Thanks for the replies! I am going in for a fill this weekend. Hopefully I be perfect at around 2.5cc... I hope I hope! I've got to start losing soon! I would love to squeeze back into my premommy clothes!
  14. Hello all. I got my band on 08/31 and am not losing. I've had 1 fill on 10/13 of 1.8cc and it's hardly done anything for me. I can eat anything and still get hungry and can eat nearly as much as before. Am I incompatible with the band? Does it hate me? I thought I'd be able to eat like a "normal" person and have whatever only in small doses and instead I can have whater in big doses. Agh!!!
  15. I think I'm the only on here who hasn't lost anything. Well maybe 3 or 4 lbs. What's the problem here? I have a 1.8cc fill. Do I need more? How much do ya'll have? Yes, I have had too much junk BUT even when I'm eating healthy I can still eat anything and WAY to much of it.
  16. I'm dying to know the answer to this one. I got a pretty good fill the 1st time around 1.8 in a 4cc band. But, there is still no good restriction. I need more!!! Hopefully number 2 will help.
  17. Don't hold your breath. I was doing awesome and losing really well until one day I woke up and it was back (the hunger monster). I could eat anything I wanted and was just as hungry as before. I am eating a bit less than preop with one fill but still can eat anything and WAY TOO MUCH. Just a warning because it totally caught me off guard. BTW, I have gained back all of my initial postop weight.
  18. There is a support group in San Diego on yahoo groups. Just type in san diego lap band. I'm in Rancho Penasquitos.
  19. I got a fill over the weekend 1.8 and still don't feel good restriction. What's up with that?
  20. My port is in the same place and also sore. I asked about this and was told that it's because it's sewn right there that when we move a lot we tug at it and it's normal to be sore. I went in on Sat and the needle was very scary, but I only felt a pinch as it went in. We did the whole thing under floro so the doc lined up everything perfectly. The weird part was when he had me sit up with the giant needle sticking out and I did the barium swallow. It's actually really cool to be able to see the band for the first time! My doc said he was going to give me a good fill this time. He said they don't do like a lot of docs and only put in a little at a time. Anyhow, it wasn't painful and I'm a big baby. Good luck!
  21. I got my first fill this weekend. We almost filled half the band already. I was to be on full liquids for three days and then resume eating. I just ate a Egg McMuffin (I know, I know bad choice but I need to get to the groccery store). Anyhow, I ate pretty slow and the whole thing went down. I'm a bit surprised it all went down so easily. I hope this keeps me full for a while. How much was put into your band?
  22. It seems like that is way to little to eat, but I don't know any better. I am so happy to hear of ladies who have had successful pregnancies with the band. I am hoping to lose all my weight within a year to have my next baby and was a little nervous about having the band. I just got my first fill of 1.8 and still don't feel very restricted...
  23. Enjoy it while it lasts! At about a month postop I could suddenly eat anything and a LOT! The little 10lb I lost is coming back on quickly. Thankfully, I'm going in for a fill this weekend!
  24. I feel your pain. I lost 10lb almost right away and after 3-4 weeks no more restriction. Right now I've gained back 5.5 lbs and can eat anything I want and a LOT more than before. Thank goodness I'm getting my 1st fill this weekend.
