  1. That would be fun! I have seen a few NCpeeps on here.
  2. It is amazing how different the surgeons are! I had protein shakes brought to me second day in the hospital. Then, I say go for it! It will probably be the best tablespoon of grits you have ever eaten! Lol
  3. My first soft food was retried beans. I added 1 tblsp velveeta cheese, a little lowfat sour cream. It was delicious!
  4. Grits sound really good. Make sure you add some unflavored protein to them. My NUT says that it's best to only concentrate on things with protein in them at this stage. We can eat so little that we have to maximize every protein gram.
  5. It's neat that we are all so close. We should all get together sometime
  6. I believe that our relationship with food is going to become one of eating to live and not living to eat. Much different concept for me for sure! I didn't eat pizza tonight while everyone else was eating it! I am very proud of myself.
  7. I have not lost in a week. I have determined to just keep following the plan and pray eventually the loss will kick in. I am out of town this week, and it has been good to not have the scale in front of me to step on every morning.
  8. Yay! I will be thinking good thoughts this week for your appointment.
  9. I have done that two times. I finally threw up and immediately felt better. I sure hope I have learned my lesson.
  10. I had a cup of chili. It was hard not to drink the water. I havent been taking anything to the table with me, but with it sitting right there....
  11. Those are things to work towards. But they won't happen right away. Aim for 30 and 30. That's what my doctor told me. After you stay at that for a day or to go up to 40/40. Keep adding each day. If going up by 10 is too daunting, then go up in 5 increments. You can do this. Try not to get too overwhelmed.
  12. I am going out to lunch with a friend for the first time post op. I am a little nervous.
  13. Yay! Yay! I am so happy for you! I thought I heard something singing in the sir! Hopefully, mine moves tomorrow.
  14. I also heard it might help to get it really cold.
  15. I can't really tell with liquids, but yesterday was my second day on real food. I ate one too many shrimp and I paid for it. I was in pain for about an hour and a half, and then my mouth watered. Next came white foamy stuff and then the food. Felt so much better afterwards, but my 19 year old was worried about me. I will be measuring from now on
