  1. Believe me when I say this is the WORST of it. Stick to your Diet. YOU CAN DO IT!!! and you will be so much happier in the end. I remember I slept a lot during those days and sucked on ice chips. Try to keep Occupied go out for a walk or do something that does not remind you of fodd. YOU WILL BE SO HAPPY AT THE END OF IT. GOOD LUCK!! :)

  2. I don't have multiple years since my surgery, mine was in July of 2012. Weight loss has slowed down but not stopped. Are you exercising? That is what is helping me. I also use this App on my phone called Lose it ,its also available online. Its a very useful tool. I always remember what they told me

"gastric bypass is a tool, It's not a miracle cure". So I have to keep going and watch my portions. Especially now that Im being able to eat more than I used to.

  3. Hi Paul,

Im sorry to hear you are suffering from depression. Im not sure I can really relate as you say you have had depression in the past, but right after surgery I felt very tired and I knew something was wrong. I would call my doctor everyday and tell him I wasn't feeling well. He said it was all part of the process. I felt tired all the time and couldn't keep anything down. I was invted to several partys and just didn't attend as I knew everyone would be eating and having fun. Yes I concidering eating fun. Well 3 weeks post op I landed in the ER I had internal Bleeding and was dieing. I had ulcers. I was in the hospital for 3 weeks after that. My suggestion to you is to always listen to your body. If you know and feel something is wrong talk to you doctor don't be afraid or ashamed in any way. As far as what replaces food after I got well, I started walking, keeping a journal of how much I have lost in inches and in pounds. I still have issues when ever I am invited to partys or potlucks at work. But I try to always ask the host at partys if It is ok for me to bring a dish. A dish that I know I can eat. Take walks, talk to people , read books, dance, learn a new language, Anything to help you though this . Belive me it gets better every single day. You will be ok!

  4. Congrats on the weight loss, The Surgery of course worked just takes your body a little time to heal. As far as the Salt Cravings IM thinking you are still on liquids so try some Yummy broth haha. Sorry I know broth sucks I hated it!! But that is about the only salty thing you can have at this time. Give your body some time to heal. I developed ulcers right after surgery so I was not able to keep anything down. It will get better!!

  5. Congratulations I had my surgery 7 months ago and I've lost a little over 100 pounds feels wonderful doesn't it I was too at 300 well over 300 pounds. I'm at a plateau right now haven't lost a pound in about 2 weeks but I've been stressing so I finally decided to hide the scale in the storage so I don't see it everyday haha good luck to you guys

  6. So Today I woke up (YAY FOR THAT) and had to take a home pregnancy test. It was fun going to the supermarket last night and picking it out. (roll my eyes in a sarcastic way). Especially when an 80 year old woman was standing next to you at the checkout eyeing the box in your hand. Well sorry to say but the test was negative (bummer), but yet I wasn't surprised. Hey 15 yrs of taking test and it com...ing up negative you kinda get used to rejection. haha. I don't understand why mother nature can be so cruel and EVIL. Yes I said it!! Well I had Gastric Bypass Surgery 7 months ago and my periods came back to normal (or so I thought) until this past Month. I am now 2 weeks late. Before my surgery I had not had a period in 2 years. After surgery like clockwork. And today PCOS has showed its ugly head yet AGAIN, DAM YOU! lol

Ok well trying to stay positve to work I go.
