When you are able to have it, Healthy Choice makes a frozen Greek yogurt that's tasty. Sugar's at the top end of the acceptable range but it has protein too. I keep it around so I can have a treat when my family has ice cream.

Dried prunes? Are they too high in sugar? -

I know what you mean. Overeating is no longer an issue is it? Lol -

Tummy hates rice
terry1118 replied to TinyMamiOf3kids's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't know if you'll tolerate it better but it's worth a try if you love rice. Brown rice takes longer to cook and is supposed to be better for you. -
Ditto what SoccerMomma said, minus the cream of wheat and oatmeal. I ate a lot of Greek yogurt and boosted my protein by mixing unflavored whey protein into cream soups. At first it seems nearly impossible to get all your protein so adding protein powder helps a lot.

All those things are made with white rice aren't they? I was told I should never eat white rice, white pasta, white bread, or white potatoes ever again. Have you tried brown rice, wild rice, or other grains? -

Fish again. I love the fish but I don't know if eating it every day is good. It's my go to meal when nothing else interests me, which seems to be most nights. I bought a couple crab cakes to try tomorrow. -
I think I've got it down. I'm spacing them out more and drinking more between pills. It seems to be working. If I start to have trouble again I'll go back to crushing my synthroid. I think I still have a refill on the liquid suspension equiv of my doxycycline if I need it, too. We'll see how it goes. :-) Funny how everything seems to be going along fine and then... BAM! Something that never gave you trouble suddenly starts to.

I don't have a goal weight. My goal is to be at a healthy weight for my age (53) and height (5ft). If I HAD to choose a goal weight I'd probably pick around 135. I was 115 before I had children and I was down to 150 a couple times in the past 15 yrs. 130-135 is sort of in between and seems reasonable for a woman my age. But right now I am content with feeling better physically. Anything else is gravy... :-)

You are normal. But think of it this way... If you gain more weight it'll be that much more you need to lose after! I think everyone goes in for the "last supper" thing to some extent or another. If you have a food you think you're going to miss, try to balance the day out with healthier, lighter options for your other meals that day. Try not to make your job harder after surgery. My doctor didn't require a liquid diet but I chose to do one anyway. I wanted to JumpStart my weight loss too. I lost eight pounds in two weeks before surgery drinking atkins shakes. It felt good to be on my way... :-)

I was glad I was already a member of this site when I went to my psych evaluation and was told joining an online support group was strongly encouraged. I could say I already have! :-) -
My motivation was to be pain-free, extend my life, and to start living instead of just existing. To be happy! Bonuses are: shopping, looking better in clothes, shopping, having more confidence, shopping, being more productive at work, shopping, feeling more romantic, and did I say shopping? Lol

Zucchini pizza! I'm loving it! And I stuffed some mushrooms with the same ingredients. My hubby is about to taste test them for me. :-) -

I stumbled upon it in my research about rny before I made my decision to do the surgery. I liked it and stayed. I haven't even tried any other sites. -

My hubby ate half of the zucchini last night. It makes a healthy snack for a 'normal' eater. :-) I was telling the girls at work about this. One doesn't like zucchini and thought it would be good with potabella mushies. I'm going to try that next (I already have some baby bellas in the fridge), but I do love the zucchini! I've been starved for veggies - this way I can get my veggies AND some protein. Thanks again graceann! -

My surgeon said 1 to 1 1/2 hours, if no other issues. -

What will your 'style' be at your goal weight?
terry1118 replied to Chelle's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For work I want to wear layers, like a sweater or suit jacket, that don't bunch up, ride up, constrict me, or make me look bigger. Blouses that define the waist. A feminine skirt suit. Maybe some nice professional trousers that don't have an elastic waist. For home and casual I want to wear skinny jeans with sporty sweaters (like Chaps, Lauren, Jones New York), long sleeve t-shirts with pretty scarves (love the scarf look). A nice short or car-length wool coat and some short leather boots. And a pretty wool hat - not a cap, but a real hat with a brim. And I really, really, really want a classy (and sexy) little black dress and a pair of shoes with kitten heels. :-) And a tattoo! I'm currently the only one in my family without one... -

And for you! It's great to finally be on the same page as far as food goes. Now if I try something new my husband knows it's good food (like the zucchini pizza) and he'll try it. I don't know if that's entirely a good thing - he's eating everything I keep on hand for me. :-) How is your back Dorian? -

I made your zucchini pizza for dinner. It was delicious! It went down easy, tasted great, and it was a real treat to have something different. I packed some leftovers for my lunch tomorrow. :-) -

My husband is a body builder and has been eating healthy for years. I cook all his healthy foods but didn't eat them myself (shame on me!). He always said he would never skimp on the quality of food so I always buy the best, regardless of cost. So now, I too am eating nothing but good healthy foods. Maybe part of the reason I'm not spending so much is because my last chick left the nest two months ago. For a little while she was "grocery shopping" in my pantry but that has tapered off. So now it's finally just the two of us... and I could literally live off my husbands scraps (if he left any!) -

cheese. Protein w/fat, and delicious! I am longing for the day that I have a problem such as yours. Lol. I like how you use your personal experience and challenges as a teaching guide for the rest of us - it's much appreciated. Good luck and may we all learn from you! :-)
