I take mine mid-morning, mid-afternoon, and evening two hours after my multi.

I was told to space out my calcium because your body can only process so much at a time. Too much at once just passes through and is a waste. :-)

I've always managed to get to, or close to, the 60gr my program recommends. To go over by that much is a first. I'm going to try to keep it up. Maybe it'll help me keep up my steady weight loss through the winter. I would love to see a single digit size by the time it gets warm again. :-)

How about some NSVs!?!?
terry1118 replied to shyanne's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Don! I talked to you at group a week and a half ago. When I got to my car I got some bad news and totally forgot about looking for south coast bariatrics. Thank you for the reminder! :-) -
How about some NSVs!?!?

One of my goals was to be able to ride on the back of my husbands Harley again. I hadn't been able to for four years (back pain and the embarrassing discovery that I had 'back boobs'). Today we went on the 'Toys for Tots' fun run that ended in Providence RI. 4 1/2 hrs on the bike - 1/2 hr ride to Newport, 2hrs to round up other couples from Newport to Smithfield, then on to Lincoln, 1hr for run from Lincoln to Providence, then 1hr to get home. It would have been a great ride, except for the fact that I have less padding on my backside now. And, let me tell you, there is NOTHING 'soft' about a Heritage Softail! My butt is SORE!! Lol Another nice surprise - I dug my old leather jacket out of the attic and it fit! And comfortably! :-) -
I still don't do well w/pills. :-p

How long until you drove again?
terry1118 replied to Mid West's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor cleared me to drive at my one week post-op appt. They are really only concerned with whether or not you are still taking pain meds. If you are you can't drive. If you're not it's okay. -
Things I will not miss...

I like your #7 - wearing non-elastic waist jeans. That is one of my favorites! And now my work slacks have those little metal clip-closures. I NEVER trusted those to hold my... GIRTH... before! I just knew they weren't up to the job of decently containing me! I'm really short but for the first time in 28 years I feel petite! Lol -

Wednesday I went to Marshalls to return a couple things in larger sizes. With the store credit I bought a beautiful Calvin Klein winter coat in a side 12! It's snug now but it'll fit nicely by the time I really need it. :-) -
Which artificial sweetener do you prefer?

Splenda. :-) -
Well, I'll just have to wait and see. It's not the end of the world if I can't have it. :-)

PCP medical clearance
terry1118 replied to DeeMotionalEater's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Aside from arranging for me to attend the initial weight loss seminar, my PCP wasn't involved in the process at all. My surgeon's office took care of everything. They ordered all the labs and arranged appointments w/the cardiologist and the pulmonary doctor who, in addition to the pulmonary testing, evaluated me and gave me my medical clearance. I won't see my PCP again until my next yearly checkup after the holidays. Love, love, love my surgeon's office. They made every appointment in a timely manner and worked with my schedule. All I had to do was show up when they told me to. It was a totally stress-free experience. I HIGHLY recommend Wareham Surgical Associates in Wareham MA. :-) -

What Day After Surgery Was Your Worst?

4th and 5th. For me, those days were the worst for glass pains. -
What ya eating tonight?
terry1118 replied to OleHippieGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate yogurt. My husbands sick so I made a big pot of homemade soup for him. Then I wasn't feeling much like soup. :-) -

Can't argue with the pouch. And it likes to reinforce the lesson so you don't forget. :-)
