    depression is taking over!

I too suffer from anxiety and depression and I think alot of it has to do with my size. I have dealt with infidelity in my marriage too and thought it was because of the way I looked. But, you are a beautiful person and the inside and deep down you know that. You have done a brave thing to have the rny. Now, you are going to make your outside as beautiful as your inside. I think maybe talk to your doctor about seeing a counselor to sort through your feelings. I have done this and it has been a tremendous help. You have to get back to loving you!

    I need help!

I have surgery next week and my doctor has me doing 2 protein shakes, one for breakfast and one for lunch (I do the Atkins becauase they are low carb) and then a sensible dinner, lean meat and veggie. I hope this helps!

    Pre-op diet

My doctor told me to do a protein shake for breakfast and one for lunch and a sensible dinner. It is day 2 and i am starving between breakfast and lunch. Can I have a snack or would that be out of the question?
  10. I would really love to hear how everyone's day of surgery went! I am having mine on March 26th. I am nervuos, excited, scared and everything in between. How did you feel when you woke up? I will be in the hospital from Tuesday-Friday, will be able to take a shower during that time? Will they give me pain meds right after surgery? How did you feel after 1 week? 2 weeks? I would love to hear about everyone's journey.
  11. Also remember, people in other countries aren't alwasy fond of Americans. My husband spent a great deal of time over there and was treated badly by many once they discovered that he was American. Keep your head up, you will be home soon. You are doing what is best for you!

    8 years post-op

I know that had to be hard for you to say! I am having the surgery in 2 weeks and am on my pre-op diet. We are addicts, just like alcoholics and drug addicts. The only difference is that every where we turn the temptation is there for us. I am finding it very difficult. I know there are things I shouldn't eat but I want them nonetheless. You have made it 8 years, which is remarkable. You can do this, you are a fighter, that is what got you this far. Don't give up. Every day is a new day with endless possibilities. We are all here for each other, this board will help you alot, it has helped me.

    Day of Surgery stories

Thank you so much for sharing your story and giving all that advice. I need all the advice I can get at this point. I just bought some ensure clear, but I haven't tried it yet. I went for my pre-op visit today and it just got real an as excited as I am, I am so nervous! Terrified of failing because I have failed so many times before. I know I can do it but I have convinced myself before and then failed. I just want to lose this weight.
  17. Looking for people in my area! I am in the Charleston, SC area. I can't wait for my March 26th RNY! Everyone on here is so supportive and it is a breath of fresh air.

    Day of Surgery stories

Thank you for sharing your story. I hope and pray that my surgery goes as smoothly as yours. I am taking 2 weeks off as I am a teacher and I am not sure I could handle coming back after just a week. I hope that although you are 1 year out, you continue to live that wonderful and healthy life this surgery has offered you. I am afraid I will miss food but it is not my friend. I can't wait to see the new me.
  19. OK, next week I start my pre-op diet. I am to do liquids for breakfast and lunch and a meat and veggie for dinner. I need some advice on protein shakes. Brands, kinds, any advice would be welcomed. I am nervous, yet so excited for this awesome transformation.
