I have lost 30 pounds since the surgery, and 50 overall (50 to go). Here are my favorite non-scale victories:
Being able to cross my legs!
Being able to sleep on my stomach again!
Being able to run without pain in my hips, knees, and feet!
Being able to shop in the Misses section of the store!!!!!!!
Being able to do a sit-up, or paint my toe-nails, or tie my shoes without my belly causing all the air to whoosh out of my lungs!
So pleased to be able to share with all of you!

I have a new boyfriend, and he is nine years younger than me. Last night I told him "take me into the bedroom" and to my surprise he whooped me up and carried me in. I've never been carried anywhere by any man. After my kitty giggling subsided, I told him that all I meant was that he should take me by the hand but nevertheless I couldn't get over feeling tiny for the first time in my life.

Coolest thing happened. I went into a consignment store I've always wanted to shop at but couldn't because they only go up to size xl. in there, I find a cute jacket, and I'm looking for a shell to wear under it. I ask the sales lady for help, and she goes to the Medium rack. I think she's nuts. Then she picks out this pretty sleeveless top and says "try this--it may be too big for you, though... it's a size 16."
Now, it turns out I DO wear a size 16, but the idea that she looked at me and thought I was even smaller than that was baffling. I still can't get over it! And lately my littlest daughter has been hugging me and saying "you're so skinny!"
And finally, I went on a date the other night, and we were sitting on the couch, and the guy took my legs and swung them across his. I was shocked that my legs are light enough that A) he could lift them, and B) he would want to have them over his. In some part of my mind I'm stil as big as a buffalo... but other people are telling me something very different!
    What a head trip!

For me the biggest thing is still being able to cross my legs like a lady. I just LOVE how it looks and feels! Or to sit in a normal size chair and be able to tuck my legs up under myself. Hell, I may even give Yoga another try now that I can get into some of those positions without cuting off my breath!

I was so jazzed about being able to fit into my old watch (funny--you never think of your wrists getting fat, but they do) that I wore it for three days before I realized the battery was dead. LOL!

Today I was just realizing that I could buy a frilly lacy bra with only two hooks if I wanted... It hadn't dawned on me!

I almost forgot to mention: in the past I always posted a full-length picture of myself sort of as a full disclosure on what I really look like and how big I was. I always thought if I lost weight I would put a full-length skinny picture of myself on there and get better guys. Interestingly, at 70 pounds thinner, I have no desire to attract men who would judge me on my size. Interesting, huh?

So I'm trudging through my couch to 5 K tonight. Slowly jogging, like I'm stuck in molasses, counting seconds til I'm done....and I had a moment. During a free form run. Where my stride picked up and for about 2 minutes I actually LIKED what I was doing...then I had to slow down or I was going to die. But briefly, ever so briefly, I enjoyed it....that was wild

I have something to share: After two – year hiatus in dating, I put my profile out on okcupid.com. I briefly dated two different men who turned out to be not right for me, but, as they say, the third time's the charm. For the past three weeks I've been dating this very nice young man. I say young because he is nine years younger than I am. I feel 10 years younger, so why shouldn't I date someone who is 10 years younger, almost?
