Wow you look amazing. I hope I do as well as you. Do you have much extra skin because it doesn't look like it from your pictures.
No, I don't have any. Lucky genes the surgeon says. I'm very blessed. Thank you.

I can't even explain how much this surgery has changed my life. I'm so blessed and love my second chance.
Surgery was 5/14/13
First pic - 273 lbs in 8/2012
Second pic yesterday at 135 lbs
Size 22 to a size 6. Great journey !!

I still look at my clothes and think "No way does that fit me!"... and it does. I washed my size 8 jeans a couple days ago and was sure I shrunk them when I held them up looked at them. They looked so tiny! But nope! They still fit! :-)
I threw a bunch of size 10 work pants in the wash last night to TRY to shrink them so they'll fit again. Lol
Tell me about it. I'm now in a size 6 from a size 22! Its crazy. I look at these size 6 clothes and think, no way! But I'm actually a size 6. Just incredible. Our mind hasn't caught up yet. It's a wonderful feeling.

Did you just jump right in to running or did you follow a training program?
I jumped right into it. Just started walking/running, walking/running until I ran all the way. It gets easier every run. When I first started, I could only run half a lap. Now I run 3 miles without stopping. <3 Good luck.
-
You look awesome! How much do you run? How far out did you start?
Thank you. I started running about 4 weeks post op. I run 4-5 x a week about 2.5-3 miles.

Last week my 9 month post op appt with my surgeon went Great! Thirteen pounds away from my goal. He actually says, I've lost more than the norm. However, I do have a new passion since surgery! It's Running! I've gone from a size 22 to a size 6 in pants and 8 jeans and small tops. I'm so happy with my decision to change my life forever. I would do it all over again. He also asked me to speak at his next Pre op conference. I was honored.

What are you doing to be successful? I was a 22 pant and 3x top. I have lost 80lbs, 5 months out. I have only bought new undergarments in smaller sizes. I might wear an 18 now.
I want to know your secrets.
I love to run. I run about 3-4 miles about 4-5 days/week. I eat very little carbs and no junk food, at all. Keep active and find something that you love to do like walking, running or cycling. Hard work, determination and sticking with it will definitely pay off. I'm here if you need any pointers.
