  1. Padlre' date=' I currently weigh 281 pounds. I've been over weight for about 10 years or more. Im 31[/quote']

My husband wasn't for it either but my health complications rose to serious levels at age 34. We have to walk w conviction and remind others that claim they care that their love is suppose to be unconditional and supportive. Then leave them to it as u do u. I made sure my husband came to appts and was a part of every e.r. Trip or picking up kids because I couldn't due to illness and seeing my ongoing pain and illness just so that he could get a full pic.

The male doc telling him what I needed and why was icing.

  2. Hello Everyone!!! Surgery is 2 weeks away. My doctor has not given me a pre op diet. Has anyone else not had on either? I see a lot of people have pre op diets that are weeks and months long. Im very tempted to have a last meal binge soon.

Enjoy those last meals.... You miss them for awhile! :-)

  3. Does anyone else have problems with reheated foods? Last week I ate a piece of juicy chicken and saved some for the next day. The left overs made me vomit. Then the same happened a few days later. Yesterday I cooked an awesome salmon. Saved some for lunch. Just ate it and now I'm so uncomfortable and vomiting again. Could it be that my pouch is rejecting left overs? Or maybe it's the microwave drying out the food?

    Thanks!

  4. I'm hoping to be like you. I have a pretty high tolerance to pain so I'm not really worried. Can you walk upright? My bed is high (18 inch mattress w 3 inch topper). And short legs. I'm a little worried I won't be able to get in and out of it on my own.

Small step can help.... Sold in kid sections and most stores (furniture, etc).....

  5. Ok so my insurance company has approved the revision from band to bypass now the Dr office is talking about having a committee hearing at which time they will decide if I need more nutritionist consults' date=' more psych evals or what. I'm pissed now because I think they are going to say I need to do more. I've already done the one year program with my insurance company which included bi weekly meetings and weight loss programs. Should I start looking for another Dr?[/quote']

    Yup

  6. So' date=' my surgery was 12/13/12, and weight loss wise, I am doing great,63 lbs down so far.

Before surgery, I struggled with depression and anxiety, was treated by a psychiatrist and meds since 2009. All my docs were aware of this, I passed the psych eval, things were good.

After surgery, I did something that was maybe not the smartest thing ever...felt so great, went off my meds and "broke up" with my shrink, lol. Did fine for awhile, but now...not so good. Had a little melt down about a week ago, called my family doc,he started me back on some meds and wrote me out of work for a few days. In the meantime, found a new psych as well, but cant get in til April 20. Started a new and very stressful job which isnt helping things, but hubby is out of work and I should feel grateful to have it.

Does anyone else notice an increase in depression symptoms following surgery?[/quote']

Yup! It's a struggle.... Also found out that my hormones were out of wack

  8. I had surgery a week ago tomorrow. For some reason' date=' I can't stomach any food. Last week I took a few bites here and there, but I'm just not hungry at all. I could probably go a few days without eating. I am getting some liquids down though

Has anyone else experienced this? I'm starting to worry myself. It's been 6 days and I've post 13 pounds because food doesn't sound good to me at all yet[/quote']

I was the Same way and still struggling (Surg was2/26)..... But my doc just wanted me to at least keep hydrated. Whatever I could do because not doing equals dehydration and possible organ failure or parts of body going into shock..... Be careful and try to push thru. I know it's hard

  9. It's been a very long 7 1/2 months for me.... but I can confidently and proudly say that I finally feel as though the inside matches the outside! I'm about 5lbs to my goal' date=' (although I'm only about 3 months out from my actual bypass procedure), and I went on a mini shopping spree today, and it felt SO good! From size 22 pants and 1x or 2x shirts, to size 8 or 10 pants, and a size M shirts.

Everyone who is struggling in the first few days or weeks after surgery, just keep your mind on the end result. Everyone with complications, surround yourself with love and support and you'll make it through. You'll make it through, just keep pushing!

Wow girl!!! God is good!! You look great! :-)
