Reached my goal weight
I started at the gym 5 weeks post op. walking and the elliptical. Once I hit six weeks out it was game on. Did aqua boot camp, lifting (to tone up the loose skin) and kickboxing. Up until I went to the gym I was walking 2 miles a day 3 days post op. It was a very slow pace at first but it helped so much!

Love my new life
I just have to tell everyone that I LOVE my new life. My quality of life is outstanding. I work out, my marriage is healthy and I'm having a blast with my 14 month old daughter. Every struggle that I have gone through since my surgery has been completely worth it. Don't ever give up, you will accomplish so much!

Antibiotics question
I had rny 6 months ago. I'm now sick with a sinus infection. My general practitioner doesn't know much about gastric bypass. Can I just take a zpack? I'm allergic to amoxicillin. Or do I need to take a liquid antibiotic?

30 minute rule
I was told u shouldn't chew gum after having the surgery that it will put air bubbles in your pouch and cause it to stretch.

Skim milk
I was surprised to learn that I could tolerate milk after surgery since I was lactose intolerant prior to the surgery. My nutritionist said it can work either way. Hopefully you become tolerant.

Reached my goal weight
I have officially reached and passed the goal weight that was set by me and my surgeon. My goal weight was 160 and today I weighed in at 156. I have accomplished this in 6 months. I am so blessed! All of my hard work at the gym and dedication to my nutrition plan has paid off. My new goal weight is 140.

Skim milk
I'm using this to help me reach my protein goals. Is there calcium in skim milk. Is too much skim milk bad?

how has your surgery changed your life?
I LOVE life!!!! Having this surgery has given me a second chance and I am taking full advantage of it. I did this to get healthy. I was on three prescription medications for high blood pressure a day and still was running high. Now I'm not on any bp meds and my blood pressure is perfect!!!! I go to the gym everyday and I'm challenging myself in ways I used to be scared of. I'm now a better wife and mother. I thank God for this amazing blessing.

I didn't have gas until my 5 month mark now it's constant. I got chewable gasx and the mints strips helps a little

The shedding has started....not the lbs, but the HAIR...
I'm devastated with the amount of hair that I have lost. I just now started taking 6000mcg of biotin daily and increasing my protein intake. I had such thick hair now it's so thin. Had to cut it to my shoulders to make it look thinner. Praying it stops soon!!!!!

Love the gym
I NEVER thought I would be the person who loves going to the gym but now it's my favorite thing to do. I love taking the classes step, cardio kickboxing, aqua boot camp, sculpt, powerflex, Zumba and just recently took TRX. It has become part of my daily routine. I did not get the surgery to be skinny I did it to be healthy and the ONLY way to reach my goals. My entire life has changed since the surgery. I am so blessed!!
