What I would do its go back on liquid diet for a week and then go to purée that way you feel like you just had surgery and feel more Motivated. Keep up the good work and just log on to here and talk to us when you feel like eating.

So my surgery was Feb 4, and I'm 6 weeks post op, so far I've lost 53 pounds, from 252 down to 199.5 which I'm excited about, however I'm having problems advancing to the solid stage, I haven't been able yet to do that. Every time I try something my stomach hurts like crazy and I feel like the food is stock on my throat therefore I end up throwing up. Until I throw up everything I attempted to eat I won't feel good. The only solid thing that I could eat is the soda crackers and its maybe 2 of them. I'm really afraid that I end up going back to the hospital because a lot of people have told me that i might have a stricture, even though I'm drinking my Vitamins and Protein Shakes I still feel weak and tired. It's this normal??

Wow! Such a big change in a short amt of time.I know. Thanks

So probably loosing 100 lbs during the first six months isn't probably realistic. I have lost 54 lbs since my surgery date in November and 64 lbs all together.I think it's realistic it's just that everybody is different and you always have to eat the right portions and the Snacks and drink a lot of Water as well so your metabolism can increase and therefore you will loose weight faster. I want to get to my goal weight by the end of August which will make my six month mark. So far I'm 5 weeks post op and I've lost 40 pounds already which if I keep up the way I'm going I should hit my goal weight. My starting weight was 252 and my surgery date was Feb 4,2013 now I'm 212 and my goal weight which was set up by my doctor according to my height it's 132.6 . but if I don't make it by August ill definitely make it by dec. good luck with everything.

Later ill post a pic of the whole me. Lol ????

Definitely call your doctor. I had the same stricture problem and I feel so much better now. Thanks I will cause this is too uncomfortable I see a lot of people moving to solids and I feel like I'm stuck at purée and not even all kind. Lol
-
At your stage is when I developed a stricture. But try this....one papaya enzymes. These help in digestion and when food feels stuck etc.. two really try and take baby baby bites and chew very well. Three call your doctor and let them know and do the other two things while waiting for an answer from themThanks so much for your advice I will call her right now.

I need your advice. It's been 5 weeks since I had surgery and so far I've lost 40 pounds which I'm super excited about, however I'm having problems advancing to solid stage. Every time I try to eat something no matter what it is my stomach hurts a lot and I feel like I have to throw up but I don't. The pain goes away like 30 minutes later but I can't keep eating. Even with some purée food the samething happens. Can you guys tell me what is the easy solid food to start with or what should I do before I eat so I won't get this pain?? Thanks

I'm not a doctor either but I'm just saying what my doctor had told me, I guess every doctor is different so just ask your doctor to see if its ok.

I'm 1 month post op and to this day I still can't drink more than 4 oz in an hour and I have to drink less than an ounce at at time or ill get stomach ache, so go slowly on the drinking cause you don't want your pouch to expand. Good luck and welcome to the experience that will change your life and make you a better and healthier you.

Sad today I have been working out and eatting about 1100 cal like I was told by my and this week I gained 5 lbs idk what I am doing wrong any ideals to change up my food mebe that's what I was thinking I am 7 months out today very bumbed and feel like i am failingI think that the best thing to do its go back on your liquid diet for about a week and that will help you to loose weight. It will also help speeding up your metabolism which had probably slowed down for a little bit. Good luck.
Before and after pics please
